Jose Pineiro Joined The Apollo Group In 1988 As A Software Developer

Jose Pineiro is the Director of Information & Technology at the Apollo Group of Companies.

He joined here in 1988 as a Software Developer, a role that came with the responsibility to develop a new requisition system for cruise ships.

By the end of 2000, he was promoted to the position of IT Manager and was assigned the job to develop and implement a new HR system using an innovative technology.

The challenge was not only to implement new software technologies, but to lead a team of developers. However, with his excellent knowledge and consistent efforts, he efficiently performed his role.

By the end of 2004, he made sure that the HR system was fully implemented onboard the ships and shore side.

As a result, the company was able to save a great deal of money in labor, travel arrangements for the crew, and freight charges.

This is because all the crew documents were now processed electronically with the new system.

The very next year, Jose Pineiro was promoted to Director of Information & Technology for all Apollo related companies; including – Apollo Ship Chandlers, Discovery Cruise Line, Europe USA Travel, and Apollo Global Catering.

As the Director of Information & Technology, he was responsible for the development and maintenance of various software applications, including Order Processing and the HR system.

Jose Pineiro has performed all this roles in the company with utmost sincerity and dedication. Perhaps that’s why he has always been appreciated by his team and upper management.

In his twenty-five years of career, he has acquired great knowledge of various Microsoft software development technologies for web and windows, such as Visual Studio 2003-2012, ASP, Java script, J Query, VB Scripts, VB.Net, C#, XML, HTML, DHTML, SQL Server 2000-2012, FoxPro, CSS, RPG and COBOL.
