Article:"Lincoln park project: Oral History of the Young Lords Organization"         1. "Mervin: you made reference to your neighborhood, to your homes with respect to Lincoln park... being taken away how were they taken away from them?"           "Cha-Cha: Well the way they took the homes from. there were Puerto Rican home owners ourselves and what they were doing was basically offering them a lot more money then what the Puerto Ricans paid for originally so that the Puerto Ricans thought they were making a good deal, a good profit, but because the Puerto Ricans had no inside information to the Chicago 21 plan of the master plan of the mayor Daley, the 50 year plan of the mayor Daley to renovate that area to make it a suburb within the city,because the Puerto Ricans were not privileged to that information."         2. " Mervin: What were the means you used to deal with the land grab?"              "Cha-Cha. we set up a, we went to the institutions, we confronted the institution and we told them that if they were institutions were there for the community that they needed to look at the urban renewal plans and they needed to modify those plans. these institutions were moving the people out. So we went to McCormick seminar, took the seminar over, with about 200-250 residents and we stayed there a week until they decided to invest $650,00 for low-income housing.   Analysis: 1. this source shows us how when the Puerto Rican owners were being ripped of by the city and even mayor Daley and how the poor Puerto Ricans were being taken away from their homes because of urban renewal.                      2. this shows how people and the YLO talked to institutions so they can modify the urban renewal project and add housing for low income housing.

"la iglesia de la gente vino a ser nuestra practica...el barrio estaba con nostotros en cada paso como dicen los 3000 que nos respaldaban"  Analysis:              1. the YLO were fighting to build new homes for the Puertoricans community.               2. the YLO believed that tis land was for the Puertorican community.they also made the community come together to support the urban renewal.

Article:"History of Concerned Citizens"             1. we plan to make the Lincoln park neighborhood a place where poor and working people of all races,cultures,and family size can live cheaply and well, and have power to control the community"             2. Specifically, the founders of concerned citizens were upset that hundreds of poor and working families had been or would be removed from the area by Urban renewal, and that neither LPCA nor the department of urban renewal had any intentions of providing housing for those who had been displaced." Analysis:             1. The Young Lords spoke how they wanted cheap and well made homes for their people. They want everyone to have a home but also be in control on what happens in their community.            2. Not only did the YLO help stop Urban renewal, but got other organizations involved. Here it says how they wanted the Urban renewal needed to stop because the urban renewal was not going to house these displaced people.
