Stand Firm In The Lord

It is not hard to imagine, in this age of wars, evil groups bent on the destruction of humanity, and political follies, that the words of Saint Paul were so accurate, even for his time. It seems that the world never changes. Paul says, “Many . . . conduct themselves as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their end is their destruction . . . Their minds are occupied with earthly things” (Ph 3:18, 19). The result is the destruction of innocent people and of the Earth itself. But Paul says to the Philippians, “our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we also await a savior, the Lord Jesus Christ” (Ph 3:20). He will “change our lowly body to conform with his glorified body” (3:21). Note that he says “body” rather than “bodies.” He is talking about the whole community of believers, who, following the example of Jesus and of Paul, will come into the glory of God. If I give away everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast but do not have love,

I gain nothing. (1 Corinthians 13:3).

To live in a fraternal spirit is very beautiful. Our Lord said, "For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them" (Mt 18:20).

He knows how difficult this is, so he only demands the bare minimum of "two or three."

Living fraternally both tests and supports the spirit of charity. Trees in a forest support one another against being blown over when a storm strikes.

You cannot know the extent of damage someone may cause when in a drunken state, whether it be in the form of an accident, physical violence, or arson.

In the same way, when you are filled with the desire for revenge, your powers of perception become even more impaired.

Our Lord enjoined his apostles to dress simply, but in clothing which is very difficult to find: "All will know by this that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another" (Jn 13:35)

Sunday, March 17, 2019 Dear brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus,

I ask God to bless the efforts that each of you makes in this journey of Lent, and to renew your spirit of love for the Church and strength of family life.

Renewing our Christian life is done by using the various resources that the Church offers us, to make more sense of prayer, fasting and works of mercy. Of course, we also renew our Christian life by approaching the sacraments in a more conscious way and participating actively in the Eucharistic celebration. And in this journey, as we reflect on our life, we can find some actions that have decidedly distanced us from God. Conscious and determined, let us humbly approach the sacrament of Reconciliation, which renews and strengthens our relationship with our neighbor and with God who loves us.

Once in a state of grace, we must strengthen the covenant with God; working so that the parish life is a sanctifying environ-ment for all, without being afraid; thinking of the inheritance that our father, God, has for us; and trusting that He will fulfill His promises as He did with Abraham, by calling him from his reality to live and begin in an unknown reality, but with infinite trust in the God who called him (Gen 15:5-12ss).

When Jesus calls his apostles, he prepares them for the mission that they will later have to take into their hands: they will have to overcome fears; be compassionate and humble; their service to the community, and among themselves, should be something that distinguishes the life that He proposes to them, for which He has called them. Therefore, when climbing the mountain, Jesus wants to show that the mission of the apostle, although difficult, has a supernatural destiny. And so is our mission. So, we must prepare, be very good at being kind, honest, helpful, humble, patient, and generous. We must leave behind, and right now, all selfishness that prevents us from possessing eternity and that hurts the saving plan of Jesus Christ (Luke 9:28ss).

May God bless you, that your efforts may have His blessing and guidance, and that the admirable light of the Holy Spirit be with you to dissipate all darkness.

CHÚA NHẬT 2 MÙA CHAY - NĂM C BIẾN HÌNH ĐỔI DẠNG

Bài đọc 1: St. 15:5-12;17-18 Bài đọc sau đây thuật lại Chúa ký kết Giao ước với Tổ phụ Ápraham, hứa ban cho Ông đất đai màu mỡ và dòng dõi đông đúc, và Ông đặt hết niềm tin vào Chúa.

Bài đọc 2: Pl 3:17;4-1 Thánh Phaolô than trách những kẻ sống xấu xa theo xác thịt. Ngài kêu mời chúng ta đi theo con đường Thập giá là đường dẫn đến vinh quang Quê Trời.

Tin Mừng: Lc 9:28B-36 Tin Mừng thuật lại Chúa Giêsu lên núi cầu nguyện và biến hình sáng láng, để dạy chúng ta biết: có tử nạn mới có Phục Sinh. Chúng ta có chết cho tội lỗi mới được sống lại hưởng phúc vinh hiển.

Thân ái kính chào Quý Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em trong Chúa Kitô,

Tôi nguyện xin Thiên Chúa chúc phúc cho mọi nỗ lực mà mỗi người trong Quý Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em đang cố gắng thực hiện trong Mùa Chay Thánh này và ban ơn đổi mới, thêm lòng mến dành cho Giáo hội cũng như được mạnh sức trong cuộc sống Gia đình. Kính thưa Quý Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em, chúng ta có thể canh tân đời sống Kitô hữu của mình bằng cách tận dụng các phương cách khác nhau mà Giáo hội đề ra hầu giúp chúng ta thấy rõ hơn tầm quan trọng

của việc cầu nguyện, ăn chay, và làm việc bác ái. Chắc chắn rằng, chúng ta cũng có thể đổi mới đời sống Kitô hữu bằng cách lãnh nhận các Bí tích một cách có ý thức hơn, và siêng năng hơn trong việc tham dự Bàn Tiệc Thánh Thể. Trong cuộc hành trình này, khi chúng ta suy ngẫm về cuộc đời của mình, chúng ta có thể tìm thấy được một số điều đã làm cho chúng ta bị lìa xa Chúa. Với ý thức quyết tâm, chúng ta hãy khiêm tốn đến lãnh nhận Bí tích Hòa giải, để kết nối và củng cố lại mối quan hệ giữa chúng ta với Anh Em và với Thiên Chúa là Đấng hằng yêu thương chúng ta.

Một khi chúng ta đã được sống trong ân sủng của Thiên Chúa rồi, chúng ta phải cố gắng giữ Giao ước với Ngài được vững mạnh hơn, hãy làm cho đời sống Giáo xứ là một môi trường thánh hóa cho tất cả mọi người mà không phải sợ sệt gì cả, hãy nghĩ về gia tài mà Thiên Chúa là Cha chúng ta đã dành cho chúng ta và tin chắc rằng Ngài sẽ thực hiện lời hứa của Ngài cũng như Ngài đã thực hiện với Tổ phụ Áp-ra-ham khi xưa, bằng cách kêu gọi Ông giã từ cuộc sống thực tại để bắt đầu bước vào một tương lai không rõ ràng, nhưng với niềm tin vô hạn vào Thiên Chúa là Đấng đã gọi Ông (Sáng Thế Ký 15: 5-12).

Khi Chúa Giêsu kêu gọi các Tông đồ, Ngài chuẩn bị cho các Ông sứ mệnh mà sau này các Ông sẽ phải quán triệt, các Ông sẽ phải vượt qua nỗi sợ hãi, phải có lòng nhân hậu và khiêm tốn, phải phục vụ Cộng đồng và trong chính các Ông, phải có một điều gì đó phân biệt cuộc sống mà Ngài đã đề ra với các Ông, một cuộc sống mà các Ông đã được mời gọi để dấn thân. Do đó, khi lên núi, Chúa Giêsu muốn các Tông đồ thấy sứ mạng của các Ông, tuy khó khăn, nhưng có một định mệnh siêu nhiên. Và chúng ta cũng vậy. Vì thế, chúng ta phải chuẩn bị, phải cố gắng sống thật tử tế, trung thực, giúp đỡ, khiêm tốn, kiên nhẫn và rộng lượng. Ngay bây giờ, chúng ta phải bỏ lại phía sau tất cả những ích kỷ nào mà ngăn cản chúng ta chiếm hữu được sự sống vĩnh cửu, làm hư đi kế hoạch cứu rỗi của Chúa Giêsu Kitô (Lu-ca 9: 28).

Nguyện xin Thiên Chúa ban phước lành cho tất cả Quý Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em. Xin Ngài chúc phúc và hướng dẫn tất cả mọi cố gắng của Quý Ông Bà và Anh Chị Em. Tại sao lại gọi là 40 ngày Chay thánh? Từ “Mùa Chay” là một từ tương

phản với từ gốc la tinh là “quadragesima” có nghĩa là 40. Trong Kinh thánh, con số 40 có ý diễn tả một khoảng thời gian chờ đợi, một quá trình, tượng trưng cho việc chuẩn bị gặp gỡ Thiên Chúa. Số 40 còn diễn tả hành trình trong sa mạc trên đường về Đất hứa của Dân Do thái kéo dài 40 năm. Ông Môisen đã ở trên núi Chúa 40 ngày (x. Xh 24, 18; 34,28).

Những người trinh sát đã ở trong vùng đấy 40 ngày (x. Ds 13, 25). Elia đã đi 40 ngày trước khi tới được hang ở đó Ngài được thị kiến (x. 1V 19, 8). Ninivê đã được cho 40 ngày để sám hối (x. Gn 3, 4). Và quan trọng nhất là Chúa Giêsu được Chúa Thánh Thần thúc đẩy vào trong hoang địa 40 ngày để ăn chay cầu nguyện trước khi thi hành sứ vụ công khai (x. Mt 4,2).

Như vậy Mùa Chay là mùa nhắc nhớ 40 năm hành trình trong sa mạc của dân Do thái, 40 ngày trong hoang địa của Chúa Giêsu. Con số 40 ngày, là thời gian đi vào ho-ang địa của cõi lòng, thinh lặng để chuẩn bị gặp gỡ Chúa. Đây là thời gian phụng vụ cao điểm thuận tiện thích hợp cho các Kitô hữu noi gương Đức Kitô dùng 40 ngày để ăn năn đền tội và dấn thân phục vụ anh chị em. Và bằng 40 ngày long trọng của Mùa Chay, mỗi người được liên kết mật thiết hơn với các Mầu Nhiệm của Chúa Giêsu, Đấng đang tiến đến cái chết và sự sống lại.*

Domingo 17 de marzo, 2019 Estimados hermanos y hermanas en Cristo Jesús:

Pido a Dios que bendiga los esfuerzos que hace cada uno en este caminar de la

Cuaresma y que renueve su espíritu de amor a la Iglesia y de fuerza a la vida familiar.

Al renovar nuestra vida cristiana, lo hacemos utilizando los diversos recursos que la Iglesia nos propone y le encontramos más sentido al orar, el ayunar y las obras de misericordia, claro también al acercarnos de una manera más consciente a los sacramentos como es la participación activa en la celebración Eucarística. Y en este caminar al reflexionar sobre nuestra vida podemos encontrar algunas acciones que decididamente nos han alejado de Dios, después conscientes y decididos nos acercamos humildemente al sacramento de la Reconciliación, que renueva y fortalece nuestra relación con nuestro prójimo y con Dios que nos ama.

Y ya en estado de gracia fortalecer la alianza con Dios, trabajar por que la vida parroquial sea un ambiente santificador para todos, sin tener miedo y pensando en la heredad que nuestro padre Dios tiene para nosotros y que cumplirá sus promesas como lo hizo con Abraham al llamarlo de su realidad a vivir y comenzar en una realidad desconocida, pero con infinita confianza en el Dios que le llamó. (Génesis 15:5-12ss).

Jesús al llamar a sus apóstoles, les prepara para la misión que posteriormente habrán de tomar en sus manos, que tendrán que vencer miedos, que tendrán que ser compasivos y humildes, y que el servicio a la comunidad y entre ellos deberá ser algo que distinga la vida que Él les propone y para la cual les ha llamado. Por eso al subir a la montaña Jesús quiere mostrar que la misión del apóstol, aunque difícil tiene un destino sobrenatural, y así la nuestra, por lo que hay que prepararse, ser muy hábil en ser amable, honesto, servicial, humilde, paciente y generoso. Dejando todo egoísmo que nos impide poseer la eternidad desde hoy y que lastima el plan salvador de Cristo Jesús. (Luc. 9:28ss).

Dios les bendiga y que sus esfuerzos sientan su bendición y guía, que la Luz admirable del Espíritu sea con ustedes y disipe toda tiniebla.

Mantente Firme en el Señor

No es difícil imaginar, en esta época de guerras, que grupos malvados tiendan a la destrucción de la humanidad y locuras políticas, que las palabras de san Pablo fueron tan precisas, aún para el tiempo en que vivió. Pareciera que el mundo nunca cambia. Pablo dice “muchos se comportan como enemigos de la cruz de Cristo. Para los que piensan en cosas terrenas, su destino es la perdición. . . (Filipenses 3: 18, 19). El resultado es la destrucción de personas inocentes y del planeta mis-mo. Pero Pablo dice a los filipenses: “somos ciudadanos del cielo, de donde esperamos como salvador a Jesucristo el Señor” (3:20). Él “transformará nuestro cuerpo frágil en un cuerpo glorioso semejante al suyo” (3:21). Nota que él dice “cuerpo” en lugar de “cuerpos”. Él habla acerca de la completa comunidad de creyentes, quienes, siguiendo el ejemplo de Jesús y Pablo, vendrán a la gloria de Dios. Así que “¡manténganse firmes en el Señor!”(4:1)Copyright © J. S. Tradiciones de Nuestra Fe La Cuaresma nos llama a la conversión, a la cual deberíamos estar dedicados todo el año. En muchas parroquias latinas la Cuaresma también es tiempo de misiones. De niño recuerdo haber participado cada año en las misiones de mi parroquia. Escuchábamos a los predicadores con curiosidad, ya que aparecían solo una vez al año y luego se regresaban a lugares lejanos y desconocidos. Nunca imagine que algún día yo también estuviera como predicador de misiones. Me gustaría darles un resumen del mensaje que he sembrado en varias parroquias. Las misiones no son para repetir doctrina, sino para evangelizar a los bautizados. Con cinco temas se puede evangelizar a los bautizados recordándoles los cinco puntos claves del Evangelio cristiano: 1) Dios nos ama y nos hizo para él; 2) Nosotros hemos pecado y sufrimos las consecuen-cias; 3) Dios nos manda a su Hijo para librarnos del mal; 4) Jesús desea formar parte de nuestras vidas personales, ¡invitémoslo! y 5) Jesús llena nuestro corazón con el poder y la presencia de su Espíritu. Grupo de Oración Resurrección y Vida

Nos reunimos para apren-der más de la palabra, dar gracias a nuestro Padre Dios por las maravillas que hace, ven-imos a ofrecerle alabanzas y también tene-mos conferencistas que los invitamos a darnos testimonios de fe, esperanza y caridad.

El Sacramento de la Reconciliación

El Sacramento de la Reconciliación es un Sacramento de Sancación en el cual nuestros pecados son perdonados y por el cual somos reconciliados con Dios y la Iglesia. El Sacramento de la Reocnciliación es un regalo de Dios para que cualquier pecado cometido después del Bautismo pueda ser perdonado. En la confesión tenemos la oportunidad de arrepentirnos y recuperar la gracia de la amistad con Dios. Es un momento santo en el cual nos ponemos en su presencia y reconocemos honestamente nuestros pecados. Con la absolución, somos reconciliados con Dios y con la Iglesia.

Oración de Renovación Espiritual durante la Cuaresma

Dios, Padre celestial, Mírame y escucha mi oración durante esta santa Cuaresma.

Por las buenas acciones me inspiras, ayúdame a disciplinar mi cuerpo y a renovar mi espíritu.

Sin tí no puedo hacer nada.

Por tu Espíritu ayúdame a saber lo que es correcto y hacer tu voluntad. Enséñame a encontrar nueva vida por medio del arrepentimiento.

Líbrame del pecado, y ayúdame a vivir por el mandamiento del amor. Dios de amor, regrésame a tí.

Envía tu espíritu para hacerme fuerte en mi fe y activo en las buenas acciones.

Que mis acciones de arrepentimiento me traigan tu perdón, abre mi corazón a tu amor y

prepárame para la fiesta de la Resurrección de Jesús.

Señor Dios, durante esta Cuaresma nútreme con la palabra de vida y hazme uno en tu amor y oración. Llena mi corazón con tu amor y

mantenme en la fe del Evangelio de Cristo. Dame la gracia de salir de mis debilidades humanas. Dame una nueva vida por medio de tus sacramentos,

especialmente de la Misa. Padre, nuestra fuente de vida, te alcanzo con alegría y

me agarro de tu mano; déjame seguir tu camino.

Guíame por tu Misericordia, porque si me dejas no puedo seguir tu voluntad.

Padre del amor, fuente de toda bendición, ayúdame a salir de mi vida de pecado y

entrar a la vida de la gracia. Prepárame para la gloria de tu reino.

Te pido todo ésto por nuestro Señor Jesucristo, tu único hijo, quién vive y reina contigo en la unidad del Espíritu Santo,

un sólo Dios, por siempre.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation

The Sacrament of Reconciliation is a sacrament of Healing in which our sins are forgiven and in which we are reconciled with God and the Church. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is God’s gift to us so that any sin committed after Baptism can be forgiven. In confession we have the opportunity to repent and recover the grace of friendship with God. It is a holy moment in which we place ourselves in His presence and honestly acknowledge our sins. With absolution, we are reconciled to God and the Church.
