Kosuth helped make installation artwork as we think of it since the late 1960’s. He explored language and appropriation to express his own ideas. He was first a painter, but began to make conceptual work the late 60’s. Kosuth's art explores the nature of art rather than making what is traditionally called "art". He experiments with representation in his work by having one subject represented in different ways.Kos works reflect on himself.

     Kosuth is an artist that uses a variety of mediums and was born in Toledo, Ohio.. Kosuth helped tomake installation artwork as we think of it since the late 1960’s. He explored language and 

    appropriation to express his own ideas.  He was first a painter, but began to make conceptual works inthe late 60’s. 

    Kosuth's art  explores the nature of art rather than making what is traditionally called "art". Heexperiments with representation in his work by having one subject represented in different ways.Kosuth's

    works reflect on himself.

    Means that the work depicts something easily recognized 

    by most people.

    Art that is intended to send an idea or concept to the perceiver and need not involve the creation or appreciation of a traditional art. 

    Describes an area of 3D works that are often sitespecific and designed to transform the perception of a space.
