July - August - September 2017

Dear Pastor and Praying Friends,

Joshua 1:9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Forgive me for the delay of my prayer letter due to our transition. Before transitioning from Yokosuka Baptist Church (YBC), during the altar invitation, we had three saved on 10 September Sunday morning: Robert, Kai, and Gregory.  Ms. Laverne joined YBC, and Braylon surrendered to believer’s baptism.  We had ten professions of faith, and four believers’ baptized during these past three months. Praise the LORD JESUS CHRIST!

Fellow missionaries asked me to pray for Maranatha Baptist Church (MBC) in Okinawa since June 2016. After more than a year of praying, and GOD’S providential circumstances, I was one of the candidates. MBC voted in favor of calling me as their pastor on Sunday 20 August 2017, and I accepted. I’ve announced my decision to resign as Pastor of YBC on Sunday 27 August 2017 effective 30 September 2017. Brother Steve Nutt is now the Interim Pastor of YBC.

The next few weeks were even more hectic, packing for our household shipment, finding movers, and everything that go along with relocation. This is an emotional time for all of us in YBC after being with them for over six years. We were leaving YBC that we love. It is a bittersweet transition. Though we are very sad to leave YBC, we are also looking forward to what the LORD will do for us and through us in MBC. Elvie and I flew to Okinawa, Japan on 30 September 2017.

Brother and Mrs. Steve Nutt arrived in Yokosuka City the same day we departed for Okinawa. Pastor Nutt will help YBC find their next pastor. Please pray for the Nutts, especially Mrs. Nutt’s health, and pray for YBC. My wife and I need your prayers more than ever before as we serve in MBC. Please send your support to BIMI account number 1248. Thank you and GOD bless you!
