    January 3, 2014 (Friday)

This day marked my first day of OJT in 2014. One of my superiors asked me to record

obligations on the books. Pertinently, I unfasten copies and had them filed on the compilation

folders. Subsequently, disbursement vouchers together with the supporting documents were

forwarded to maam Diane at the accounting office.

During idle time, I sort and arrange the files on the cabinet. By doing this, I came to

know that in an office where there are a lot of hard copy of files, there is a need to arrange, sort,

and place them on proper places. Otherwise, it would be hard for workers to look for specific file

    when the need arises.

    January 7, 2014 (Tuesday)

In view of the fact that Christmas season is over, it is but reasonable to remove the

Christmas ornaments at the office. I, together with my co-trainee, removed the said decorations

inside and outside the workplace. Appropriately, we placed them at the proper area where they

are being placed for the whole year in the offing 2014 Christmas.

Consequently, maam Alma assigned us to obligate personal services. I recorded them on

particular books, had them received at the accounting office, filed the duplicate copies, and

separated copies for maam Susan who is responsible for personal services journal entry.

Doing almost the same job every day of my OJT days, I have pondered upon that

routinary activities make me more familiar on the tasks given. That even though no instructions

were specified, upon receiving the forms, I need not to ask what to do or what to do next because

its already imprinted on my mind.

    January 8, 2014 (Wednesday)

In order for my superiors to finish the reports for 2013, transactions of the said year

should be done in terms of recording and forwarding vouchers and forms at the accounting

office. As a trainee, I tried to work hastily so as to be of a good assistant. I did the recording and

forwarding OBR/BUR forms together with the disbursement vouchers and supporting documents

at the accounting office. Pertinently, I maintain the filing of copies in an orderly manner.

    January 9, 2014 (Thursday)

Since 2013 reports were already done, there is again a need for preparation of dummy

reports for 2014 estimates, budgets, proposals, and actual expenses. In connection, maam Alma

asked me to change the year on the headings and save these changes on the computer. Purely

clerical, but while doing this task, I was able to have an idea on what their reports look like; what

these reports reveal, and how are they presented. From this, I came to realize that their output for

a year requires prior years actual expenses, estimated budget this year, and proposal for next

    year.

From this days experience, I can say that in training, you need not to find a job or a task

that is directly related to accounting. Because being merely an apprentice and a neophyte in the

work environment, it is normal to accept any task given, whatever it may be, as long as it is right.

And from this, you might be surprised of the things youll learn. Having not expecting it, its a

great feeling to atleast gain knowledge.
