The city of Ono in Fukui Prefecture is affectionately called "Echizen Ono." A historical castle town, around 1576, a samurai named Kanamori Nagachika built Echizen Ono Castle atop Mt. Fun Activities The original castle was built in 1576 over 4 years by a samurai Nagachika Kanamori after he was awarded two thirds of the Ono land By Nobunaga Oda. The castle was rebuilt as you see it now in 1968.

Echizen Ono CastleFlowing from one of "Japan's Top 100 Mountains," Mt. Arashima, which is also known as "Ono's Fuji," this is a 100m tall, three-tiered waterfall. Climb the path for 250m and you will reach the waterfall in roughly 15 minutes.
