JUNK NEWS: INVESTIGATING MISINFORMATION ON SOCIAL MEDIACameron Hickey has reported on and developed tools to investigate the spread of misinformation on social media. In the run-up to the 2018 midterms, Hickey and a team of researchers at the Shorenstein Center for Media, Politics, and Public Policy at Harvard’s Kennedy School monitored social media to collect misinformation and analyze the patterns that emerged. Tim Whiteri is the executive producer and host of WPRI 12’s long-running weekly current affairs program ” Newsmakers.” He is the recipient of four New England Emmy Awards for investigative reporting, and a co-author of “The Last Good Heist,” the untold story of a daring heist on a secret bank of safe deposit boxes used by members of the New England mob and their associates.
