Revenue Jersey is a new function within the States Treasury and Exchequer. We are bringing together technical experts for different types of revenue that the States of Jersey collects into one team, starting with taxes and social security contributions.

We will collect the revenue that funds our island’s services efficiently and we will deal with evasion and dishonesty swiftly and justly.

At our core, we’re here to make it as easy as possible for the vast majority of customers who want to get their tax or other revenue obligations right.

Combining the expertise of our revenue specialists to assess and collect revenue with one digital system will make your customer services more joined up and convenient. It will deliver valuable cost savings.

We know many islanders would like to access services and complete tasks such as their tax returns online. Digital services offer a quicker, more convenient service experience that’s preferable for customers in most circumstances. Digital will therefore be a key part of the service experience we will offer to islanders.

Here’s a taster of what the Revenue Management System (RMS) customer portal will allow you to do online:

• Update your personal details

• View your current and previous year’s bill and outstanding balance

• Submit your return online

• Receive your assessment instantly in many cases

• Make an enquiry and upload documentation

• Print account balances, statements and effective rates

• Update your salary income details so that your ITIS payments are adjusted to cover your bill

Perhaps you’re not keen on the internet or need enhanced access to use our services due to a language barrier or disability… Don’t worry, we’ll have plenty of support for you.

We’re working with Customer and Local Services on a menu of extra help to make sure we deliver a great customer experience for all. That will include aligning services with the 2017 Disability Strategy for Jersey.

Representatives from local charities and businesses are attending working groups to discuss our plans throughout the journey to Revenue Jersey.

When you use online services, you’ll also be helping us to reduce the cost of assessing and collecting revenue. That allows us to focus our staff time on assisting those who do need enhanced access to services, and on making sure everyone is paying what they should.

Revenue Jersey will make it easy for you to meet your tax and other revenue obligations and you can trust we’ll take fair and effective action against the minority who evade paying what they should. We’ll deliver professional, well-informed, accessible and cost effective services to the people of Jersey.
