Skills

JavascriptFunctional, OO, ES2015/16, Typescript. Angular2Building SPA’s on to of Node/Express.

Node etcWorking within the Node universe using NPM, Express, Grunt, Yeoman, MongoDB.

jQuerySelectors, writing and editing plugins, ajax, jQueryUI. Using less as browsers and Javascript have matured.

CSSBuilt first pure CSS site in 2006 and since then have used every feature at least once. Used LESS, SASS, Bootstrap. Built custom responsive sites. Think it’s cool to make any visual element on the page using only CSS.

HTML5Use every feature I can as soon as it is makes business sense to do so. Love clean terse semantic HTML, hate multiple nested DIVs.

Other Used various source control software, Accurev at FNZ, and have been using GIT for personal projects.I’m not full stack but I have either worked with or been heavily exposed to Java, PHP, .NET, SQL.Having started in web design I’m very comfortable thinking about layout and realising designer’s visions to the pixel.

Profile

I have over a decade of experience in software development and all phases of web development and design. During that time I have happily worked in a variety of environments from working solo to being part of large project teams. I’ve watched the ups and downs of Flash, javascript, browser wars and pondered jumping to the back end. With the explosion of Javascript front end is now looking dynamic and dominant. I look forward to building javascript/css/html sites and apps for the foreseeable future.
