ALL ONSITE PERSONNEL WILL BE INSTRUCTED IN THE PROPER PROCEDURESFOR WASTE DISPOSAL, AND NOTICES STATING PROPER PRACTICES WILL BE POSTED IN THE FIELD OFFICE. * SPILL CONTROL PRACTICESIN ADDITION TO THE PREVIOUS HOUSEKEEPING AND MANAGEMENT PRACTICES, THE FOLLOWING PRACTICES WILLBE FOLLOWED FOR SPILL PREVENTION AND CLEANUP IF NEEDED.** FOR ALL HAZARDOUS MATERIALS STORED ON SITE, THE MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED METHODS FORSPILL CLEAN UP WILL BE CLEARLY POSTED. SITE PERSONNEL WILL BE MADE AWARE OF THE PROCEDURES AND THELOCATIONS OF THE INFORMATION AND CLEANUP SUPPLIES.** APPROPRIATE CLEANUP MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT WILL BE MAINTAINED BY THE CONTRACTOR IN THEMATERIALS STORAGE AREA ON-SITE. AS APPROPRIATE, EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS MAY INCLUDE ITEMS SUCH ASBOOMS, DUST PANS, MOPS, RAGS, GLOVES, GOGGLES, KITTY LITTER, SAND, SAWDUST, AND PLASTIC AND METALTRASH CONTAINERS SPECIFICALLY FOR CLEAN UP PURPOSES.** ALL SPILLS WILL BE CLEANED IMMEDIATELY AFTER DISCOVERY AND THE MATERIALS DISPOSED OF PROPERLY.** THE SPILL AREA WILL BE KEPT WELL VENTILATED AND PERSONNEL WILL WEAR APPROPRIATE PROTECTIVECLOTHING TO PREVENT INJURY FROM CONTACT WITH A HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE.** AFTER A SPILL A REPORT WILL BE PREPARED DESCRIBING THE SPILL, WHAT CAUSED IT, AND THE CLEANUPMEASURES TAKEN. IF THE RELEASE HAS IMPACTEDON-SITE STORM WATER, IT IS CRITICAL TO CONTAIN THE RELEASED MATERIALS ON-SITE AND PREVENT THEIR RELEASEINTO RECEIVING WATERS. To prevent water ponded by the sediment logs from flowing around the ends, each end shall be constructed upslopeso that the ends are at a higher elevation.4. Sediment logs shall be placed on the flattest area available.5. Vegetation shall be preserved for 5 ft. upslope from the sediment logs. If vegetation is removed, it shall be reestablishedwithin 7 days from the installation of the sediment logs.6. The sediment logs shall be a minimum of 9 in. above the natural ground surface.7. The sediment logs shall be placed with the stakes on the downslope side of the logs.8. Maintenance - Sediment logs shall allow runoff to pass only as diffuse flow through the logs. Thoroughly clean surfaces free of dirt, sand, gravel, oil and otherforeign matter.C. Protect adjacent curbs, walks, fences, and other items fromreceiving paint.D. Verify that any new pavement coating has been accepted byOWNER and has cured a minimum of twenty four (24) hoursunder good drying conditions.
APPLICATIONA. Apply marking paint at a rate of one (1) gallon per three to four hundred(300-400) lineal feet of four (4) inch wide stripes. (Or to mfg. specification)B. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY CITY OF ROCKPORT UTILITY OFFICIALS ATLEAST 24 HOURS PRIOR TO EXCAVATING WITHIN 20 FEET OF ANY EXISTINGWATER OR SEWER LINE. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TOKEEP THE OFFICE INFORMED AT LEAST ONCE EACH DAY OF HIS ACTIVITIESWHILE WORKING WITHIN SAID 20 FEET. ACTUAL CONNECTION TO EXISTINGMANHOLE MUST BE OBSERVED BY A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY OF ROCKPORTUTILITIES. CONTACT NO. (361) 790-1160.
B. FORCE MAIN:
1. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY CITY OF ROCKPORT UTILITY OFFICIALS 48HOURS BEFORE TAKING ANY SANITARY SEWER FORCE MAIN OFF LINE AND ACITY OF ROCKPORT UTILITY OFFICIAL SHALL BE PRESENT FOR ANY WORKINVOLVING EXISTING OPERATIONAL SANITARY SEWER FORCE MAIN.2. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO ENSURE THAT NO PUBLICHEALTH HAZARD IS CREATED BY THE DRAINING AND/OR REMOVAL OF THEEXISTING SANITARY SEWER FORCE MAIN.
5. GENERAL NOTES:A. CONTRACTOR TO FIELD LOCATE & DETERMINE DEPTH OF EXISTING SEWER LINES ON
PROPOSED LINE SEGMENTS PRIOR TO LAYING RESPECTIVE SEWER LINESB. SEWER LINES SHALL BE REPAIRED BY THE CITY AT THE EXPENSE OF THE CONTRACTOR.
