JSS Mahavidyapeetha is the result of the vision and foresight of His Holiness, Jagadguru Late Sri Sri Sri Dr. rdShivarathri Rajendra Mahaswamiji, the 23 Pontiff of the 1000 year old Suttur Mutt.

th His Holiness Sri Sri Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Mahaswamiji the 24 Pontiff of Suttur Mutt, Suttur, near Mysore

is steering the success of over 350 institutions and programmes in the field of Engineering, Medicine,

Management Education, Dental Sciences, Pharma Sciences, Naturopathy, Nursing, Law, General Education,

Vocational and Spiritual Education.

JSS Mahavidyapeetha (JSSMVP), is a culmination of a half century of perseverance in the field of education

steered by the philosophy of noble minds characterized by intense involvement and social commitment to

Guided by this message, JSS Centre for Management Studies, the Post Graduate Management Education arm of

JSSMVP has designed the 2 years full time MBA programme to provide not only the body of knowledge in

contemporary management but also equipping their students with the tools for lifelong learning and

performance for the good of the society. An atmosphere of probing and learning; one that encourages an

inquisitive and enquiring community have been built into the learning process with a strong focus on research

methods.

The Technical and Management Education arm of the JSS Mahavidyapeetha is characterized by intense industry

collaboration, wide range of courses, distinguished faculty, contemporary infrastructure and desinguished

alumni.

JSS Technical Institutions Campus housing JSS Centre for Management Studies offering two years full time MBA

programme and Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering offering Engineering Courses - UG, PG and PH.D

programmes, offers a serene and conducive setting for students and researchers to learn and enrich their

Admissions

Admission Eligibility :

To be eligible for admission to MBA a candidate shall have obtained a graduate degree from any

statutory university established under law & recognised by Association of Indian University with a

minimum of 50% in aggregate (or equivalent grades, where grades are used at the graduate

degree level) at the qualifying university examination on as prescribed by the Government from

time to time.

For SC/ST candidates the eligibility as prescribed by Government will be applicable.

Candidates holding MBBS, BDS and other such degrees which require mandatory permanent

registration much submit details of permanent registration obtained from respective councils

wherever applicable.

Applicants having degrees from universities other than VTU Belgaum will be required to submit

migration certificate as prescribed by VTU from time to time.

Admission Application :

Application for admissions to MBA is available at JSSMCS Office, JSS Technical Institutions

Campus, Mysore 570006 or can be downloaded from the website : www.jsscms.org

Filled in Applications along with prescribed fee and attested enclosures must be submitted to

MBA Admissions Office, JSS Centre for Management Studies, JSS Technical Institutions

Campus, Mysore 570006. The prescribed fee must be paid through a demand draft payable at

par and in favour of JSSCMS– MBA a/c, payable at Mysore.

It is mandatory to have a valid common admission test score of MAT/CMAT or other such tests

accepted by JSSMCS at the time of submitting MBA admissions applications. The admission test

scare must be valid at the time of admission along with other admission criteria.

NOTE Candidates appearing for their final year can apply but their admissions

processing will be provisional and subject to obtaining the minimum required

marks and fulfilling other eligibility criteria at the time of admission

Hostel Facility :

Separate hostel facility is available both for boys and girls. The candidates desirous of seeking

admission to hostels will have to apply in prescribed form at the time of admission.

JSS CENTRE FOR MANAGEMENT STUDIES (JSSCMS), a recognized centre

for MBA education in the country offers Two Year Full Time Autonomous

MBA programme approved by AICTE and affiliated to Visvesvaraya

Technological University, Belgaum, Karnataka.

JSSCMS is a constituent institution of JSSMVP and located in the sizzling,

most sought after and happening 120 acre Technical Institutions Campus,

Mysore in the heart of the city along with Sri Jayachamarajendra College of

Engineering.

JSSCMS has a faculty strength with vast professional work experience in

industry, academia and research who are equipped with contemporary

pedagogical skills with one of the Faculty as a National figure with

Padmashree and Kannada Rajyotsava awards and several such awards and

recognition.

thJSSCMS has made a name both nationally and globally. In the 15 year going

and climbing to the top, has about 800 students who have received their

MBA degrees so far from JSSCMS and are all placed in respectable and

Library :

JSSCMS has well stocked library with 15000 books & has access to over 1400 journals. The students can access to software for statistical program and case studies. The library has magazines from well known publications.

The campus sports complex offers a JSS-KSCA cricket ground, volleyball and tennis courts, modern gymnasium. In addition, the shopping complex, canteens and two nationalized on the campus provide other student amenities.

MBA programme

The two years full time MBA programme is governed by the regulations approved by the Governing Council and Academic councils . The Board of Studies and Board of Examinations comprising of experts from academia, industry and practicing professionals play pivotal role in prescribing the curriculum and in matters of assessment, evaluation and examination.

The MBA curriculum is designed to meet these objectives. The pedagogy emphasizes

the development of candidate’s skills and abilities, to identify, understand and help

them address challenges in managing organizations. Candidates are expected to

achieve high standards of learning along with empathy towards society.

Teaching methods include lectures, workshops, case analysis, seminars, and field

research.

Structure :

The 2 year MBA programme comprises of four semesters. Each academic year is

divided into 3 semesters. Two main semesters and One Supplementary semester (to

help the weak candidates) constitute each academic year.

In the first year, the candidates are made familiar with the foundations of

management. Hence all the courses offered in the first year are compulsory.

In the second year the candidate is required to register for core courses and also

select elective courses. In addition the candidates are required to carry out

independent research report leading to business proposals complete with business

plans and seminars. Student seminars on topics of contemporary importance is an

integral part of continuous evaluation systems. Strong foundation in research

methods emphasizes on newness, conceptualization and methodology of a research

paper.

The candidates are guided by teaching faculty such that the work of the candidates

carried out is worthy of being submitted as a research paper or presented in

National, International Conferences.

Academic Qualities :

The teaching-learning process aims to develop a number of qualities in

candidates. Sustained Disciplined Work, Self Learning, Continuous Learning,

Quality Consciousness, Orientation to Team Work represent the learning

environment.

Assessment :

MBA programme at JSSCMS follows a system of continuous assessment.

Throughout the semester, the student will be tested on his / her ability to

understand concepts, learn techniques and apply them to problems in the real

world. At each stage of the course, the student would be able to assess his /

her performance and take measures for improvement.

Typically assessment is done in two parts viz., Continuous Internal Evaluation

(CIE) and Semester-End Examination (SEE).

Grading :

Absolute grading system is adopted in the College. The total marks scored by

the candidates in CIE and SEE will be converted into letter grades. A letter grade

is a qualitative measure (an alphabet/letter) indicating the performance of a

candidate. Outstanding (S), Excellent (A), Very Good (B), Good (C), Average (D),

Poor (E) and Fail (F) are the letter grades that are awarded to the candidates

based on their combined performance in CIE and SEE.
