Qualities

The Blue whale is the biggest animal in the world. It is an endangered aquatic mammal. It weighs like 33 elephants. It has to eat four tons of krill every day. Their calls reach 188 decibels, while a jet engine reaches 140 decibels.

Threats

There are only from 10,000 to 25,000 blue whales. Their threats are the loss of habitat and the toxics. They are also hunted and they are particularly vulnerable.

Why are they important?

They are important because they are at the top of the food chain. They have a role in the overall health of the marine.

How can we help?

We can help not fishing in their habitats and not hunting them.
