Songs of the Children The 5th & 6th Grade students are connuing on their campaign against violence and social injusce with a March and meeng with Philadelphias new police commissioner Ramsey and Mayor Kenney on March 18. Approximately 200 students are expected to parci- pate and walk in silence with drums from the Art Museum to City Hall. The silent march was inspired by the 1917 silent pro- test led by W.E. B. Dubois and the NAACP against lynching and an-black violence. Beginning February 10, the students will start vising schools to talk about their campaign and encourage other students to join their movement by parcipang in their march or wring poetry. They are also planning a poetry event May 6 and will be launching a website: songsoſthechildren.com that will feature students poetry and wrings that support their movement. Green Schools Program Jubilees recycling project was selected to parcipate in the Recy- clebank Green Schools Program. This year, we chose to beaufy the front of the school and garden area by repairing the front wall and walkway with the help students at the Workshop School. So far weve raised $500 you can help us raise even more by vising Recy- clebank.com/greenschools and do- nang points to our project. Well get $1 for every 250 points we receive. The 5th & 6th Grade students are continuing on their campaign

against violence and social injustice with a March and meeting with

on March 18. Approximately 200 students are expected to partici-

pate and walk in silence with drums from

the Art Museum to City Hall. The silent

Peter Pan Arrgh!!! Jubilee’s production of Peter Pan is

in full gear! We are still in need of a few more

pirates. . Jubilee School alumni, parents and

friends are welcome and encouraged to par-

ticipate. The musical will open June 4, 2016

at the Arts Bank Theater on Broad and South

Streets. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays from 3:30 –4:30 for the

month of March. Days and times will increase as show time

The deadline to apply for Children’s Scholarship Fund is through March 1, 2016. If you are Interested in apply-ing you may pick up an application in the office or apply online at www.csfphiladelphia.org

Discover your summer at Jubilee!

The theme of this year’s summer program is World Cultures

of Philadelphia. Students will explore and celebrate arts and

cultures from around the world as represented in Philadelphia

neighborhoods. Students in Pre- K – 6th grades will take classes

in art, photography, pottery, singing, jazz and dance. Summer

hours are Monday –Friday 8:00 am –5:30 pm. Extended day

options are available. Applications are available in the office

or on our website: www.jubileeschool.net.

Re-enrollment is due Friday, Febru-ary 26. Reserve your spot today with a completed application and $25 fee. If you plan on applying for financial aid from Jubilee School, you must first apply for a scholar-ship from Children's Scholarship Fund.
