COMMONWEALTH OF AUSTRALIA - First Day Covers - "Jack Peake" Covers[All of lots in this section are covers hand-illustrated in colour by the late AJ ("Jack") Peake of Adelaide. From the early-1950s Jack also handmade his covers from high-quality art paper. Jack's family have now consigned all of the remaining covers in their possession. They will be offered in our sales throughout 2009. We have been advised that of most subjetcs Jack produced no more than 4 covers of varying designs (of which most have been previously dispersed). However, on occasion he produced separate covers for each value in a set plus covers bearing the full set. Where possible, sets are offered complete.
