Addendum C. Philosophy of Leadership
My personal philosophy of leadership involves taking care of people and
advancing the mission of the institution. This will only occur when people feel
valued, safe, and empowered, and requires honesty and integrity in all areas.
My motivation comes from my heart for service to others and helping people
achieve excellence in their goals. My background is heavy in team-building
and I have the following skills or qualities that aid me in successful leadership
roles:
- I am a highly organized and creative individual with effective
management skills
- I am able to navigate complex situations and develop solutions
leading to cooperation between disparate groups and individuals
- I am recognized for vision, energy and integrity
- I have a strong ability to identify, recruit, and develop people from
diverse backgrounds to their fullest potential
- I maintain a forward and innovative vision with energy and
positivity in a collegial environment
- I am a team builder - able to gain consensus from diverse groups
of professionals, so they worked seamlessly in a highly productive
team
- I am able to see and express the “big picture” in a way that
inspires and engages people on all levels
- I have a strong commitment to continuous quality improvement of
programs, people, and administration
Opportunities/Future Goals in Graduate School Education:
