HYMN*

OPENING PRAYER**Lord, we thank you for your grace that opens the gates of forgiveness to sinners like us. By your mercy, you transfer us from death row to new life. You move us from being broken people to being useful people. You alone know the art of making dead bones to walk again and broken string to play music. You are the God who picked us up from the miry pit, set our feet upon a rock and put a new song in our mouths – a hymn of praise to you, our God. Give us strength as forgiven people to be able to forgive as Jesus did. But when abuse and repeated offense threaten to ruin our lives, and our forgiveness is repeatedly walked over, help us to know the difference between being gracious and being wise. In Jesus name. Amen.
