Page 3 ALIVE AFTER 5…. JUNE 15th

Great turnout. The photo on the left show our booth with Lion Jean Long, Lion Wil-liam Long and Lion Jeanne Laws. Lion Tom Martin is not shown as he was the one taking pictures.

The little girl on the above was very determined to put one of the bean bags through one of the holes to get a piece of candy. After several tries, she succeeded, but she had to look through the hole, just to make sure.

Blue balloons with the Lions International Logo were filled with helium and handed out to the kids who wanted one.

The little girls on the left wanted & received one of the blue Lions Club bal-loons.

Kids of all ages tried their hand at tossing a bean bag through a hole to get a free

piece of candy. If you think it is easy, come to the next Alive After 5 and give it a try. It’s harder than you think.

Children lining up for a try at the bean bag toss, being assisted by Lion Jeanne for free candy. All of the kids who tried actually got a piece of candy.

NEW MD19F PATCH FOR CLUB BANNER

A new patch for our club banner was received and will be given to Lion Jean Long to sew on our club banner. Our club has not had a patch such as this before so it will be a welcome addition to our club banner. Our thanks to Lion

Tom Martin for his achievement at MD19F, making this patch possible for the Lewiston Lions Club.

CONDOLENCES & PRAYERS TO LION WAYNE AGEE & FAMILY

Lion Wayne’s son, Aiden Wayne Agee, passed away June 17th. For those of us who knew Lion Wayne, we saw the concern and love in his eyes whenever he talked about his son, Aiden.

He will be missed by family and friends whose lives he touched in his short time on this earth.

There was a service in Lewiston on Thursday, June 23, followed by a grave side service just outside Gifford. Also on Saturday, there was a celebration of life for Aiden an the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds for family & friends.

CLUB TRAILER REPORT

I’m sure that most of you are won-dering how the club trailer is coming along. Well, not that the weather is

better and it is not raining 4 or 5 days out of 7, Lion Tom is finally able to start work on the trailer. The main reason Lion Tom had to wait for the weather is that the inside of the trailer is 6 foot tall and would not go into his garage with out major remodeling to the garage. Anyway, the floor is finished and now he is working on the roof. There will be a down time while he attends the International Convention in Seattle, but Lion Tom will get back to work as soon as he returns.

THIS MONTHS

WORDS OF WISDOM!

Short People rarely see eye-to-eye with others...

Psychiatrists vs. Bartenders

EVER SINCE I WAS A CHILD, I'VE ALWAYS HAD A FEAR OF SOMEONE UNDER MY BED AT NIGHT. SO I WENT TO A SHRINK AND TOLD HIM 'I've got problems. Every time I go to bed I think there's somebody under it. I'm scared. I think I'm going crazy.' . 'Just put yourself in my hands for one year,' said the shrink. 'Come talk to me three times a week and we should be able to get rid of those fears.' . 'How much do you charge?' 'Eighty dollars per visit,' replied the doctor. 'I'll sleep on it,' I said. . Six months later the doctor met me on the street. 'Why didn't you come to see me about those fears you were having?' he asked. . 'Well, Eighty bucks a visit three times a week for a year is an awful lot of money! A bartender cured me for $10. I was so happy to have saved all that money that I went and bought me a new pickup!' . 'Is that so!' With a bit of an attitude he said, 'and how, may I ask, did a bartender cure you?' . 'He told me to cut the legs off the bed! - Ain't nobody under there now!!!'

FORGET THE SHRINKS.. HAVE A DRINK & TALK TO A BARTENDER!

THE CANNIBAL

A cannibal was walking through the jungle and came upon a restaurant operated by a fellow cannibal. Feeling somewhat hungry, he sat down and looked over the menu.... . +Tourist: $5.00 . +Broiled Missionary $10.00 . +Fried Explorer $15.00 . +Baked Democrat or Grilled Republican: $100.00 . The cannibal called the waiter over and asked, "Why such a high price for the Politicians?" . The cook replied, "Have you ever tried to clean one?

They're so full of shit, it takes all morning."

UPDATE ON MY BACK

An update to all those who have been asking how my back is doing:

Dr. started me on rehab exercise program. I am walking with a neighbor every day. I never knew walking with someone else was such an incentive.

We don't talk much during the walk though. My neighbor walks about 10 feet ahead of me.

I only started this program this week. So far, I have followed her for 10 miles . . . . without even using my cane!

I am feeling better each mile and my heart con-dition, my blood pressure and my back seem to be improving Thanks for your concern.......

Stimulating sales

-----Sense of Freshness....

Last month a new supermarket opened in Topeka , Kansas .

It has an automatic water mister to keep the produce fresh.

Just before it goes on, you hear the sound of distant thunder and the smell of fresh rain.

When you pass the milk cases, you hear cows mooing and you experience the scent of fresh mown hay.

In the meat department there is the aroma of charcoal-grilled steaks with onions.

When you approach the egg case, you hear hens cluck and cackle, and the air is filled with the pleasing aroma of bacon and eggs frying.

The bread department features the tantalizing smell of fresh-baked bread and cookies.

Needless to say, I don't buy toilet paper there.
