Key Clubbers from all around New Jersey converged
at the Newark Liberty International Airport at 4:45 A.M. to
check in and get through security. After getting through
security, key clubbers from the New Jersey District board-
ed the plane together around 6 A.M. after waiting for
about an hour.
The plane was a 6-hour direct flight from Newark Lib-
erty International Airport (EWR) to the Los Angeles Interna-
tional Airport at 12 P.M. local time. From there, we went to
the carousel to get our luggage and then we waited for a
taxi service to take a total of 41 of us. Several of key club-
bers from southern New Jersey took a flight from Philadel-
phia and arrived later that day.
We were then driven to the Anaheim Marriott, where
we had to wait in the lobby for several hours due to a mal-
function which occurred with the hotel’s key machine.
Everyone was very jet-lagged, and we decided to
eat at a Hibachi place called FiRE + iCE.
Dear NJ District Board,
I made this template for your newsletters, I hope it
will come in handy for all of you as you communi-
cate with your divisions and the rest of New Jersey
Key Club.
So when starting off a news letter, you should
have an introduction. Tell you Key Clubbers what is
going to be in the issue or let them know about you.
Try to get personal with your readers; you do not
want to write a toneless newsletter that will come off
boring and you lose readers.
Anyways good luck with your introduction. They
will set the tone of your newsletters so make sure
they are done right.
Yours in Caring and Service,
Pat Quinn

ner at on the first day of ICON.
On day 2 of ICON, the entire New Jersey District
walked a few blocks to Disneyland. There, we had an ani-
mation tour where we learned the history of animation, as
well as some animation secrets! After the two-hour tour, we
were set free into the park with groups of four. We were al-
so given Fast Passes for the Radiator Springs Racers ride.
We had to return to the hotel room that night and
meet in the suite that was designated for the New Jersey
District. This was the end of the second day of ICON.
Here, we have Reynaldo Del Toro Guerva III, a president of
at Tattnall County High School in Georgia,.

On day 3 of ICON, the New Jersey District took a tour of Los
Angeles , which included Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills, and
the Santa Monica Pier. We also got a chance to see the
famous Hollywood sign. The district was shuttled around
from place to place in a coach bus, around Los Angeles.
We returned later that afternoon, as this day was the offi-
cial start of International Convention.
That night, upon arriving back from our tour of Los An-
geles, we dressed up in our district shirts.
In one ballroom, all of the attending districts converged
and had one large meet and greet. There were districts as
close as New York and districts as far as California-Nevada-
Hawaii, Jamaica, and Aruba. It was one fun night for every-
one to meet each other a form lasting friendships with key
clubbers from other districts around the country and world.
Throughout International Convention, workshops were
held to educate key clubbers about the organization that
they participate in. These workshops helped unite one anoth-
er under the foundational goal of service. Workshops ranged
from “The Eliminate Project,” to “Q/A with the International
Board,” and even specific workshops such as “General
Members,” or “Lieutenant Governors.”
The next few days would consist of caucusing. We went
from candidate to candidate, from candidates for Interna-
tional President, International Vice President, and Interna-
tional Trustee. This was a very long process, but it was im-
portant because our decisions as an organization would de-
termine the course of Key Club during the 2014-2015 service
year.
During caucusing, we would hear a speech from each
candidate for the new international board, and then we
were given the opportunity to ask each candidate ques-
tions about their candidacy.
During the two sessions of House of Delegates, two del-
egates were sent from each attending club as their repre-
sentative during the House of Delegates. During the two
separate sessions, delegates discussed and voted for modi-
fications to amendments and also voted for the incoming
international board.
