Care ServicesKeeping Yourself Healthy
There are many things we cando to avoid the awful cases ofurinary tract infections, which cancause incoherence, pain, andmemory loss along with othersymptoms. Here are some tips tohelp you maintain a healthyUrinary Tract:
*Drink lots of water.*Drink 8-16 ounces of
cranberry juice daily to keepbacteria from growing andclinging to your bladder. Or takeAZO Cranberry tablets as aconvenient way to maintain yourhealthy urinary tract without allthe sugar or calories of cranberryjuice.
* Wipe from front to backwhen you go to the bathroom.
*Go to the bathroom as soonas you feel the need, rather thanwhen the urge becomes strong.
This will help avoid accidents, more pain, and damage done tothe bladder.
*Wear clean cotton underwearthat will allow air circulation anddiscourage the warm, moistenvironment necessary forbacteria growth.
*Don’t hang around in a wetbathing suit or on a damp towel.Dry off and then get into dryclothes as soon as you can.
*Avoid wearing tight clotheslike ultra skin-tight jeans.
Studies show that cranberries, which are loaded withantioxidants, can help preventbacteria in the urinary tract fromattaching to the bladder. Be sureto watch your health and regulardiet. If you feel you might have aurinary tract problem coming on,see your nurse at Belmont as soonas possible.
