14 ML | July 2016 ML FROM THE EDITOR PORTRAIT BY DEBORAH COTA Homes and jobs have quite a bit in common, it seems. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find the right one, and sometimes we get lucky and nail it the first time. Sometimes they fit us perfectly for a lifetime, but often we grow out of them—or simply long for a different view. For the past 11 years, Mountain Living has been my job and my home. And the people I work with every day— editors and art directors, writers and photographers, architects and design- ers—have become some of my closest friends. I’ve most definitely been lucky. But recently my family has grown, and the people who live in my real house would like to see me more often. And so this will be my last issue as editor of Mountain Living. I’ll still be writing—every day—about inspiring homes and people for a variety of publications. And I’ll still be part of the Mountain Living family. I’ll just be join- ing all of you as an eager reader who can’t wait to see what’s on the next page. It has been such an honor to talk to you here over the years. Thanks so much for reading. Homes and jobs have quite a bit in common, it seems. Sometimes it takes a few tries to find the right one, and sometimes we get lucky and nail it the first time. Sometimes they fit us perfectly for a lifetime, but often we grow out of them—or simply long for a different view.

For the past 11 years, Mountain Living has been my job and my home. And the people I work with every day—editors and art directors, writers and photographers, architects and design-ers—have become some of my closest friends.

I’ll just be join-ing all of you as an eager reader who can’t wait to see what’s on the next page.

It has been such an honor to talk to you here over the years. Thanks so much for reading.
