About 21 percent of adults in the U.S. always make it to the gym or exercise studio.
Why them and not everyone?
Steady exercisers have some habits in common.
According to studies by Dr. Navin Kaushal of the Montreal Heart Institute, steady exercisers have a regularexercise schedule that never varies. They don't debate whether they have the time that day, because exerciseis just part of the day.
However, the most active people aren't rigid about their routines. While they always exercise, they areflexible on time. If they are 20 minutes late to the gym and can't make an exercise class, they will get inthe remaining minutes doing something else. It still counts.
In fact, regular exercisers count all sorts of activity as exercise. A family hike can count as exercise just asmuch as an hour of weight training, if the situation presents itself.
Finally, it helps to have visual cues for exercise, Kaushal found in a 2017 study. A runner might have hisrunning clothes laid out and ready to go. A walker might have the walking stick ready at the door.

Why is it that as we grow older, many of us expects less and worse? Fact is: we usually get what weexpect.
Emotions are a strange and powerful lot. How many of us fully understand our own emotions andhow they affect us both positively and negatively? How many of us are in control of how we feel? Doyou get up in the morning hoping to have a better day yet leave it to chance? Do you make it happenor simply -- let -- it happen?
Volumes have been written on this subject but as usual, I’m going out on a limb and attempt tocrunch it all into one column so you can learn how to create a great life with as little effort as possible.All I ask is that you learn a few rules and use them daily.
First of all, do you REALLY know what you want? And are you enjoying that which you desirebecause even though you may not be aware of it, the thing that you truly desire on a deep emotionallevel is what is driving your emotions and creating the kind of energy that surrounds you. Thatenergy, be it positive or negative, goes out from you to those around you and beyond.
Positive energy is free-flowing, feels comfortable, satisfying, life-giving. Negative energy isuncomfortable, aggravating. If it feels like work, such as the exercise you resist, and you “have to”make it happen, your energy is probably out of alignment. Don’t want to and it feels like a “struggle”to make it happen rather than “peacefully letting” it happen, your energy is probably out of alignmentwithin you. Do you hear a “buzz” within you that you keep ignoring? Blame it on to a sickness, avirus, something you ate? Something going around? Probably not. Your energy may be out of whack.
LISTEN TO THE BUZZ
Some call it “vibrational energy.” Yes, we’re flesh, blood and bone but we are also extensions of TheSource Energy, or vibrational energy. When we get sick, our energy is out of whack, out of balance,or not-at-ease (dis-ease). So when you hear a buzz, don’t ignore it. It’s not normal. Since each of uscome into this world as a creative genius and have access to The Power, the way you create with andutilize it tells you what kind of attention you give it.
Whatever we give our attention to creates the energy we generate. “You are like a wireless computer,and so you don’t have to plug yourself in with some wire in order to connect to the network whichis Source Energy,” says Esther and Jerry Hicks, author of “Ask And It Is Given.” But it dependson how we align ourselves with The Source of Energy that determines how we feel. When we are fullof this energy, we feel great and the world looks rosy. However, when we are approaching empty,orneriness, fitfulness, despair, depression are some of the strong emotions we feel. We are not allowingthe creative energy to flow through us as freely and fully as it could. Our tank never runs out, saysHicks.
When we can take the approach to life that, “I’m going to make the best of this. No matter where Iam, I’m going to make the best of it.” That means that if I make the best of it, it’s got to get better,and if I still keep making the best of it, it has to get even better, and then people are going to findus very nice to be with. Children will find us joyous instead of critical; others will find joy throughour examples. As we all know, but have a difficult time remembering, we never teach anyone anythingby pointing out what they’re doing wrong and then trying to discipline them into doing somethingthat we believe to be right. Hicks say, “No one else can evaluate anyone else’s emotional scale. It’san inside job. It’s a personal job and nobody else can do it.”
