July 2017 Since 1963 Volume 2017-05
Fellow campers:
After careful consideration and the announcement of new write in candidates for president, I have decided not to
run as a write in candidate for president of TTCM, I believe there should be fresh eyes on our club to go forward with
new ideas on how to precede into the future, we have many new younger members in our club, and the new board
should not be bogged down with politics but be an inspiration to new members to seek a board position. In this forum,
the by-laws state that I cannot indorse a candidate however if you get in touch with me I would gladly give you my
humble opinion.
As you know the assistant camp ground director at Bellevue is Bill Oates along with his many duties he collects
camping fees, so to make his job a little easier, anyone camping up at Bellevue needs to stop at the property tender sign
and check in and pay for camping. This makes his job easier and he gets to meet and greet everyone, then he doesn’t
have to go and look for you and it also helps because if there is an emergency he knows where you’re set up, this is the
same procedure for Hesperia. Also, let’s watch our speed in the camp ground. The posted speed is
5 MPH that includes golf carts, also parents school your children to watch out for people pulling into the camp ground
they don’t always see you, the campground Directors can always use some assistance if you would like to help just ask
them they would welcome the help, there always looking for property tenders.

It was certainly a Memorial weekend to remember with almost 70 units in for the Hog Roast and with Mother Nature giving us a break on Sunday night allowing the band to play outside, WOW what a beautiful night. The playground equipment has been ordered and I'm sure everyone will be pleased with the upgrade. When we have firm dates we would like to plan a weekend to get it installed. The campfire pizza cook off is June 24th and the Olivet firemen s fest is July 29th car shows parades fireworks great time. Bring a few bags of candy and ride in the parade with us. Remember fun is where you make it come out and enjoy your campgrounds. Daryl
This will be my last year as secretary of TTCM. I have served 2 terms and have enjoyed working
with the board and the TTCM members. I would like to thank TTCM treasurer Brenda for all the
help she has given me. It has been a pleasure serving the TTCM Club for the past 6 years I have met
some outstanding people who help do everything that needs done at the two campgrounds.
Respectfully yours,
Leo Fitzpatrick TTCM Secretary
From Bellevue:
We want to give a big thanks to Daryl & Don Westphal--Roger Vogel--Mike & Sandy Nott for all their help cutting
and splitting the wood that we had ready the week before the Pig Roast.
Also thanks to Max and Sandy Jerrell for their help working in the flower beds by the dump station the week of
May 30.
And JoAnn Ingraham for being property tender the week of June 4.
With all their help, we got a lot of things done to make the campground look better.
We all had a good time at the pig roast and the weather was really good-- thanks to all that helped put it
together.
One of our mowers is in the repair shop so it takes longer to get all the grass cut but the weather has been on our
side so we got it done.
The state inspector was on the campground last Friday and he said there should be a minimum of 4-feet between
the units in the storage area.
REMINDER: All Dogs must be on a leash.

The Happenings around Hesperia Campground
It’s been a busy month around the campground. Leaves have been removed from the roofs. New power washer has been put to good use cleaning the buildings. The benches have been given a clean coat of paint. It’s starting to look pretty spiffy around here. The yard sale raised $205.82 which was donated to the floor fund. We have gained some new members and we would like to welcome them to the TTCM family. Don’t forget, we are having 4th of July festivities which include a hotdog eating contest for the hungry adults and a marshmallow eating contest for the young’uns. Along with several other activities for the young and young at heart. Decorate your trailer for Independence Day and see if you can with the prize for best decorated. There will also be a community dinner on Saturday. Don’t forget all the activities happening in Hesperia. Please come join us! Lefty & Larri
MALs As I am running for office to avoid any conflict of interest I will not be part of the Election
process. Therefore, Robin Adkins will be head of the Election Committee and will give a full report at
the General Meeting.
For the All American, we need MALs to sign up to help run several of the children's
Games! Any questions contact Carolyn Fitzpatrick. Please plan on coming and help support our
club! Not to mention all the fun you will have!

Hi, my name is Cheryl Vogel and I am running for treasurer of TTCM. My full resume
was in the newsletter last month; however, I didn’t put the position I was running for.
I have been a member of TTCM for 12 years and have been a member of Double
Dozen for that time. I have been the Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer of Double
Dozen for 10 years.
I currently work as an Accounting Manager and work in QuickBooks, which is the
program TTCM uses for the books. I also have been in some sort of accounting
position for 42 years.
I would appreciate your vote for TTCM Treasurer!
Regards,
Cheryl Vogel

FROM BLOSSOMLAND
Blossomland welcomes two new families to our chapter for 2017: Sarah & Gabe Quijano and their son Killian and Ben & Kellie Ingraham and daughters McKenna and Kerrigan. Memorial weekend was our first chapter outing. We had a great turnout and even had Danny and Deb Gatchells’s daughter and her three children join us. The pig roast was delicious as always. We had a great new band on Sunday night and rumor has it they will be back. Our June rally was at Leisure Valley in Decatur. We haven’t been there for quite some time. The pool was a great treat on a very hot Saturday. Our hosts were Dan and Nicole Mills and newly retired Tom and Barb Strzyzykowski. We are back up to Bellevue July 28th & 29th for Olivet’s Fireman Festival. JoAnn Ingraham
HAPPY WANDERERS NEWS FROM THE NORTH
I have just been reading the newsletter and I compliment the new editor, Cyndi Behler. What a great job! I write to let you know that Happy Wanderers are still going. We have some new members. They are Pau & Janet Peach and John and Ruth VanVeelen. Welcome! We are sad to report that Bill Carpenter has resigned as our President due to his health. Rick Ronning has agreed to take the President position. Thanks Bill for your years of service. This is also an election year for our chapter. It is also election year for TTCM. Check out the new bulletin board in the building. It has the names of members who wish to be write-ins. This is very important. The trash can dinner was good and definitely different. Don’t forget the fourth of July in town and Christmas in August and the sewing bees – Get ready – set – sew! Don’t forget the “Family Reunion” All-American. Leona Hershberger said “THANKS” for the beautiful plaque for 50 years of continuous camping. She wishes she could still do it. This past weekend (June 9th-11th) Happy Wanderers met. We had a pancake and sausage breakfast and a taco dinner and ice cream sundaes. It was YUMMY! Fran & Chuck Irwin and their daughter and son-in-law, the Rogers were hosts. Thanks for a great job. Cyndi Behler and Larri Hoople joined us for breakfast. Cyndi is the newsletter editor and Larri is running for Campground Director. How about that!! We had two top bananas as our guests, Remember to check out the new bulletin board to be informed. Happy Wanderers had six units and two guests for a total of 17. As I keep saying….KEEP SMILING and don’t forget to vote and also register for the All-American. Ruth Heimann

TTCM All American Family Reunion Rally Information
Basic Info: This year’s rally will be held at Bellevue from September 1-4. Pre-registration fees are $25/family or
$15/single if paid on or before August 19th. If paying after August 19th, add $5, making the fee $30/family or $20/single.
Please make your checks payable to TTCM—not Carolyn or Bellevue or Rally or your neighbor. Just TTCM. Thanks.
Theme: This year’s theme is Family Reunion. We encourage your chapter to get into the ‘theme’ of things and
try to coordinate something tied to the ‘Family Reunion’ theme. Be creative! Photos will be taken during the weekend
by MAL’s Sandy Jarrell.
Parking: Cousins Herm, Bill and Dick are going to be doing the parking. Anyone registering late will not be
guaranteed a spot with their peeps and may need to HOBO park in the overflow area. You may or may not have to be
parked like those unwanted in-laws that you feel obligated to include. So please try to pay before the deadline or no
naggin’ later!
Bang for your Buck: Included in your registration fee is Friday night’s hospitality where you’ll get treated like family,
Saturday afternoon lunch (hot dog, bag of chips and soda) from your Aunties, Sunday breakfast from your Papaws, and
donuts during Monday’s membership meeting. It also includes prizes for the various activities and games. What it does
not include are your camping fees, dimes for the 10-cent auction and kids cake roulette, quarters for the adult cake
roulette, bingo money, raffle tickets, or any of the other fundraisers going on at the campground.
Activities: There’s a lot of stuff going on to keep the youngsters from getting into trouble, the nosey aunts from
getting in your business, the uncles from falling asleep and farting at the dinner table, the cousins from kissing and the
exes from fightin’. Kids games will be running both Saturday and Sunday afternoons. We’ve got the adult and kids cake
roulette, adult and kids 10-cent auctions, and adult and kids’ bingo. There’s going to be a Corn Hole Tournament and
we’re bringing back the original Hillbilly Euchre complete with silly prizes. I smell sibling rivalry!
Church Service: Our very own brother Steve Cook will be leading a service on Sunday morning.
Friday night: Camping fees ($12/night) will be collected at the campground entrance as you arrive. Hospitality and
registration will be in the building starting at 7pm. At this time, you’ll pick up your Rally info, sign up for Corn Hole and
Hillbilly Euchre, reunite with your camping family, and enjoy a light snack.
Saturday: Draggin Train and Happy Campers will be conducting opening ceremonies beginning at 9am at the flag
pole. At this time, our veteran family members will be recognized. Kids’ bingo, adult 10-cent auction, hot dog lunch, kids’
games, a corn hole tournament and adult bingo will be available. We’ll round out the evening with a DJ and music.
Schedules and times will be provided at registration.
Sunday: The Restless Ones will serve breakfast at 8:15am for an hour. After a short morning church service, the
cake roulettes, more kids’ games, lunch and an afternoon Hillbilly Euchre tournament will be available. There will be
some type of lunch offered for a small fee from our brothers from different mothers. On Sunday evening, the whole
TTCM family will gather in the building for the President’s walk honoring the Chapter mamas and papas. All raffle
winners will be announced during this time. After the kinfolk go home with their winnings, the Progressive Campfire will
begin around dusk. Schedules and times will be provided at registration.
Monday morning: The Membership Meeting will begin at 10am in the building. Donuts will be provided to keep
the meeting cordial and family style. Sourpusses will be stuffed with sweet donuts and grouchy grandpas will have the
tennis balls removed from their walkers.
Help Wanted: Many thanks to Draggin’ Train, Happy Campers, Blossomland, Restless Ones, River Raisin and Double
Dozen families for leading many of the activities that are being offered. There’s room for all chapters to pitch in!
Additional volunteers from our camping family will be needed run the kids’ games on both Saturday and Sunday. Games
and prizes will be provided! We just need some folks to run them. Sandy Jarrell is posting a volunteer sign-up sheet on
the bulletin board in the building at Bellevue. Feel free to contact Carolyn if you’re not going to be in Bellevue anytime
soon and are interested. Volunteers will also be needed to set up and break down tables and chairs. Please listen for
announcements during the weekend. All efforts, no matter big or small, are always appreciated!
Each Chapter is responsible for the following: minimum 3 items for the Adult Cake Roulette (no cream items please!)
and minimum 3 items for the Children’s Cake Roulette (no cream items please!); items for the adult and child 10-cent
auctions (just think of it as an estate sale from your great great Grandma’s passing); any items you wish to raffle and/or
fundraise; and some favorite family recipes for the Progressive campfire.

Chapters we need your help!
In order to keep the master membership list current with the members of your chapter you need to
send Leo Fitzpatrick an updated copy of your roster showing all your members along with their
address, phone numbers and e-mail address if you have them.
The reason we need this is when we have Board of Director Meeting your President or proxy can
vote on any actions taking place at that meeting.
A chapter must have 5 units with those members being paid members of TTCM and have their
current year’s chapter incorporation paper work on file with the secretary.
We can only go by the current membership list. So please send in your current year’s roster to Leo
and if you get new chapter members during the year just e-mail him a note saying that
