Gifted Learning Institute have combined to offer an exciting summer learning opportunity for 2019. We are introducing an electrifying and in- novative partnership! The camp is designed to create enriching opportunities for advanced and highly creative students. WS/ FCS Hackers and Makers allows talented rising 4th - 8th grade students to explore personal interests and engage in learning experiences that foster challenge, innovation, and creativity. Students will work under the supervision and guidance of WS/ FCS teachers. Students will be nurtured in an environment that encourages academic risk-taking and a celebration of each student’s unique gifts and talents. Our Goals Creativity - Students exercise their creativity through design and making. Challenge - Students grow technological, creative, and intellectual skills. Innovation - Students gain hands-on experience with state-of-the-art electronics and computing devices. Enrichment - Students develop social skills and motivation to learn collaboratively with peers.

Our ScheduleStudents can join us for one or both of the following sessions:July 22 - 25, 2019 and/or July 29 - August 1, 2019 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Closing Exhibitions on the Final Day of CampJuly 25, 2019 and August 1, 2019 5:00 - 6:00 p.m.(Parents and families are invited to meet the teachers and view student’s final projects)

Registration Cost $350 for 1 week/ $650 for 2 weeksPlease visit WS/FCS Hackers and Makers to register online. (Early Bird, Multiple Child discounts, as well as Tuition Assistance available)

Enrollment is limited to 15 students per class. To reserve your space for the WS/FCS Hackers and Makers camp, submit the $50.00 registration fee and complete the online registration by May 31, 2019. Registrations after that date are subject to availability and payment in full.

*Please NoteCourse availability will be based on student registration. Administration reserves the right to cancel courses with low enrollment. Every effort will be made to assign students their top choices. Enrollment will be assigned based on receipt of student registration and tuition fees.

TransportationParents provide transportation to and from Hanes Magnet Middle School, 2355 Pleasant Street, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. Students are to arrive no earlier than 7:30 a.m. and should be picked up no later than 5:00 p.m. each day. No childcare before camp will be available. Late pickup may be arranged for an additional cost.

Lunch/BreaksEach student should bring his or her own lunch as well as snacks. Please pack items that do not need refrigeration or heating.
