officially welcome you home!
New-member registration forms are also available in the church
entrances and on our website.
Please contact Deacon John in the parish office to schedule the baptism and the baptism preparation class.
Congratulations on your engagement! Please contact Fr. Reker at least 6
months in advance to begin preparation.
If you or a family member is homebound or in the hospital and would like a
pastoral visit, please notify the office.
Monday marks the 240
th “birthday” of our nation and we
have the opportunity to celebrate the freedom that is ours as U.S.A. citizens. It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating the Bicentennial (yes, I realize that some of you were not even born then – no need to point it out to me). Time marches on and it is important that as we celebrate our nation’s Independence Day, we recommit to the founding principles on which our democratic republic is built. We are also ending the “Fortnight for Freedom” sponsored by the U.S. Bishops to pray and work for greater religious freedom for all our citizens. As I reflected upon our national holiday, I remembered a prayer by Archbishop John Carroll, the first bishop in the United States. These are two paragraphs of a prayer that he composed and asked to be read in the Catholic parishes in 1791: We pray Thee O God of might, wisdom, and justice! Through whom authority is rightly administered, laws are enacted, and judgment decreed, assist with Thy Holy Spirit of counsel and fortitude the President of these United States, that his administration may be conducted in righteousness, and be eminently useful to Thy people over whom he presides; by encouraging due respect for virtue and religion; by a faithful execution of the laws in justice and mercy; and by restraining vice and immorality. Let the light of Thy divine wisdom direct the deliberations of Congress, and shine forth in all the proceedings and laws framed for our rule and government, so that they may tend to the preservation of peace, the promotion of national happiness, the increase of industry, sobriety, and useful knowledge; and may perpetuate to us the blessing of equal liberty. We recommend likewise, to Thy unbounded mercy, all our brethren and fellow citizens throughout the United States, that they may be blessed in the knowledge and sanctified in the observance of Thy most holy law; that they may be preserved in union, and in that peace which the world cannot give; and after enjoying the blessings of this life, be admitted to those which are eternal. The passing of years, and of lives, is on my mind and in my heart these days because of a reunion of classmates from theology school (1978-82 at the North American College in Rome) that was prompted by the sudden death of a few classmates the last couple years. We decided not to wait for a special anniversary year (unless 34 years counts?) and had a great time reminiscing, catching up and praying for those no longer with us. As I returned from vacation, two priests died - Fathers Gene Egan and Paul Nelson – and my week included their funerals. Having served with both of them, I am grateful for their priestly presence and ministry, and that I could help send them off. Perhaps the national holiday, reunion and funerals encourage me to treasure the time and benefits we experience now and not wait until I am 240 years old.
Sincerely in Christ,
SJW HUBBELL HARVEST FESTIVAL BIG TICKET RAFFLE UPDATE
Tickets for the Big Ticket Raffle will be sold starting in mid-July.
We are currently working to complete the prize list. We are looking for someone who would be able to donate a new IPAD/TABLET or a FLAT
SCREEN TV to be one of the large prize items for the raffle.
The raffle generates the most revenue of all the events/activities at the festival
and the festival is St. Joseph the Worker Parishes largest fundraiser.
If you are able to donate one of these items or something similar, please
contact Nicole at the Parish Office 388-3766. Thank you!

Plan ahead for your summer giving!
Have your contribution to St. Joseph the Worker/Holy Family processed automatically!
With the Automatic Payment Plan, your contributions can be made without writing a check.
No need to change your present banking relationship.
You authorize monthly payments from your account. Your financial institution transfers the
pre-determined amount from either your checking or savings account to SJW’s/HF’s
account.
We withdraw your contribution from your bank account on the 5th, the 20th or both the 5th
and 20th of each month. If either of these days of the month falls on a weekend or a bank
holiday, your contribution is processed on the next business day.
The Automatic Payment Plan saves both you and the parish time and money because you
write fewer checks and you have the peace of mind knowing your payment was made on
time. Your monthly bank statement (or your on-line balance) will show proof of your
payment.
You can authorize the Automatic Payment Plan quickly and easily. Simply fill out the
bottom of this form and mail it to the parish office, drop it at the office or in the collection
basket at mass.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How Do I Figure My Automatic Contribution?
Formula: $______ X 52 weeks = $ ______ divided by 12 months = $ _______ per month
OPTION #1: Please transfer my gift of $ _______ twice a month on the 5th and 20th.
OPTION #2: Please transfer my gift of $ _______ once a month on the 5th OR 20th
AUTHORIZATION FOR AUTOMATIC PAYMENT PLAN
I authorize St. Joseph the Worker and the bank named below to initiate entries to my checking/savings account. This authority
will remain in effect until I notify St. Joseph the Worker in writing to cancel the automatic payment; a change or cancellation
should allow 10-15 business days for processing. I can have the amount of an erroneous charge immediately credited to my
account up to 15 days following issuance of my bank statement or 60 days after posting, whichever occurs first.

On Thursday Loyola hosted brunch for faculty and staff, welcoming new PS-12 principal Adam Bemmels, academic dean Kristi Degen, and dean of students Steve Dornbach. Later in July we will host an event for Loyola families and the Mankato community to come up to the Hill to welcome our new administration. Details to come.
Remodeling projects are underway. Our thanks to many volunteers who have stepped up to help! Projects include creating a third Preschool classroom, a Tech Cafe for online learning, a new main entrance, and updated carpet and paint throughout the building. If you would like to help, volunteers are still needed for various projects including moving boxes and paint prep. If you have an hour or two to spare, please call 388-0600.
Loyola will host a Preschool/Kindergarten Summer Social on Wednesday, July 20, 6-8pm. If you are still deciding on Kindergarten or would like information about our Preschool, join us! If you are already enrolled for Loyola Kindergarten or Preschool, we encourage you to join us as well! The Zip Zap ice cream truck will be making an appearance and there will be a bounce house and other fun activities. All are welcome, rain or shine.
Loyola is expanding its preschool program to include 2-day morning sessions (T, TH), 3-day morning sessions (M,W,F), 5-day morning and afternoon sessions (M-F) and a full-day (M-F) option. Tuition assistance for Preschool through grade 12 is available. In addition, our four Mankato area parishes offer grants to Loyola students, including Loyola preschoolers. Call 507-388-0600 for more information or to schedule a visit/tour.
