Canteen Volunteering

In todays newsletter we are asking for volunteers

to help run the canteen. This year so far the

canteen has been lucky enough to open the

canteen on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We

would really love to keep the canteen open again

on these three days for Term 3.

If you haven't volunteered before don't worry we

will make sure you are put on with someone who

knows how the canteen works. If you would prefer

to be rostered on with someone you know or have

a preferred day please write it down in your email.

If you are able to volunteer please email Leah Gale

at [email protected].

Year 6

This Term year 6 have not seemed to have a break with the never-ending amount of exciting things happening within Paterson Public School and the community. We have well and truly settled into our new learning space of the library and a lot of students have commented that they don’t remember what it was like before the move. Throughout the past 10 weeks we have had students from our class representing the school at sporting events including, netball, cricket, soccer, touch football and the athletics carnival. Amid these there have been the shadow puppetry program, numerous debates and the upcoming NAIDOC Day attended by our students at Dungog High School.

In class we have been learning about extreme weather conditions and conducting experiments simulating droughts. Students have worked hard on building their skills to persuade readers within their writing and have learnt about Australian parliament, adding to their strong ability to argue about the smallest things. We have been working with length, measurement and position in maths, completing a project on designing their own theme park on the moon.

Week 10 Assembly item saw our students finally show their dramatic skills with their performance of “Red Goes to Grandma’s” demonstrating their theatrical skill in front of the whole school. Great work 6MP.

Next Term will be an exciting one with 6MP moving back into

our updated classroom; the upcoming events of Education

week, Canberra excursion, Book week and much more.

Have a fantastic well earnt break and enjoy the holidays.

Kind regards,

Mr Pommer
