Rome. The name lavender comes from Latinlavare (wash) probably because the perfumed oil
was used for bathing as practiced in the time ofthe Roman Empire. The workshop is intended forthe enthusiasts of photography and landscapesand for those who are keen on still life and portraitphotography. The flourishing of the lavandulaplants must be visited at least once in a lifetime ofa photographer (amateur or professional), in
order to appreciate the extraordinary colours, the
scent and the atmosphere which reign in thefields where this coloured plant grows,surrounded by Etruscan and Middle Agesvestiges. The workshops aim is to teachparticipants about the territory and landscapefollowing a photographic approach. Participants
may choose to attend either one day or the twodays.

Day 1 Saturday 6 JulyTheme n. 1 : landscape and the lavandula(from shooting in the open field to macrophotography).

15,30 hrs : macro photography. Fromsimple shots of the flowered plants with astandard lens to the macro lens. From theuse of a flash to other simple toolsessential for this type of image.
18,00 hrs : wide width photography of the
landscape from the light of late afternoon
to sunset to one of the most chromaticcaptivating conditions of the day.
GOAL OF THE DAYIn-depth study : black and white shots;photoshop (short hints); return to wide scenes
with photomerge and HDR methods. Longexposures with HD filtres.

Theme n. 2: the scent and the colour oflavandula .
9,00 hrs Boscolo Etoile Academy:
Composition and still life with the Lavandulaflowers (cosmetics ,dry flowers etc)
Lecturers: Rita Bernardini, stylist, MassimoMantovani, photographer.
9,30 11,30 hrs Workshop dedicated toshooting still life.The underlying theme will be themagnificent lavandula flower which will beproposed in various creative manners.Guided lights and compositions will allow all

Still life, macro, lights and composition.
Taking pictures when travelling
is the most satisfactory benefitof a trip. Therefore getting theright gear is wise. Equipment
should include at least:
A digital or an analogicalcamera with the possibility ofmanually setting exposure,
a tripod, a flexible or remote trigger
release.
