President’sMessageWehopethatyouenjoyedreceivingthenewsletterinthemailandthatyoutookthetimetoreadit.Itisawealthofinformationaboutouractivities,plans,advocacyandmembers.Theideawastomakeyouwanttoreadeverynewslettercarefully.Ifyoureceivethenewsletterbye-mail,rememberthatthecalendarcanbeprintedseparately.Ifyoucanprintthewholenewsletter,pleasedoso.Ifinditeasiertofindorrereadaprintcopy.Duringthesummerdon’tforgetthatwewillstillhaveourSpotlightonUsseriesandourLadiesPubNightsthroughoutJulyandAugust.Rememberthatbridgeandthebookclubscontinue.Pleasekeepintouchwitheachotherandgiveacalltosomeonethatyoumaynothaveheardfromforawhile.Wearereallyhoping,asaBoard,tocontinuebeinganactive,compassionateclubwithgroups,activitiesandoutingsthatwillappealtoeveryone.Tosaythatweneedeveryone’scontributionoftimeandeffortisanunderstatement.AsIsaidinmyJunemessagetheadvocacyworkandprogramsinotherclubsissomethingtoadmireandemulate.Wehaveagreatstartwithourestablishedprograms,theprogramswehopetobegin,andourworkwithRomeroHouseandourdiscretionaryfund.Theboardwillalwayswelcomeyourinput.Asweareallsoaware,Canadawillturn150onJuly1.ManyofuswillremembertheexcitementandpridethatcamewiththeCentennialandExpo67.Wehadanewflag,afabulousexpoandsuchhopeforthefutureofthecountryanditspeople.Personally,IthinkthatCanadahasdoneverywellinthelast50years.Wehaveareputationasakindandcaringnation.AsRosemarysaidonInternationalWomen’sDay.“Let’sgivethanksthatweliveinCanada.”Weare,indeed,sofortunate.Haveasafeandhappysummer.Susan
