A group of U3Aers attending the last breakfast at Blends, Forest Way.

Neev, the owner, has closed shop after 8 years serving our group and was presented with a card welcoming him as a Friend of NB U3A

November is Jacaranda Time! Would you be interested in touring Sydney Harbour on a Sunday afternoon to view these spectacular trees in bloom and hear com-mentary by gardening expert Graham Ross? We have a booking

for 30 x U3A members on Sunday 8th November. Cost is $69

which includes afternoon tea Members who have attended in previous years have told me it is a very informative tour and a wonderful way to view our beautiful harbour. Please contact Kerrie Sanders at [email protected] if you are interested.

Please note; the booking company will not be able to confirm until the end of September/early October as this trip will be subject to

any COVID19 restrictions.

VALE DR JOHN PATTERSON It is with deep regret and sadness that we learn of the passing of longstanding U3A member John Patterson. John joined U3A in 2004 and will be known by many members for his devotion to running the “An Overview of Science” series of talks at Warriewood where members enjoyed listening to a wide variety of topics presented by speakers expert in their field. He ran this series from 2006 until his retirement in that role as leader at the end of 2017 – a period of 12 continuous years. We will be forever grateful to John for his service to U3A and his commitment to the success of his Science series that is still running. His values embody who we are as an organisation. Our thoughts are with his wife Lesley and their family, Lesley helping with the refreshments for many years at John’s Science series.
