Hi Friends! As I write you, I’m sitting in my new home, surrounded by boxes and thankful for the ways I have already been welcomed by everyone from Andover UMC! From having food to eat to a clean home to already installed internet, I have immediately felt at home here. I have been excited to come and be in ministry with you since we were introduced way back before the pandemic started (is it just me or does that feel like it was a long time ago???). I am so glad it is here. As I’ve arrived a little early, I’ll be taking a few days to get settled before diving into ministry at AUMC with all of you. For me, one of the important parts of preparing to be in ministry with you is thinking about how I can remain emotionally and spiritually healthy, so that I can care for the emotional and spiritual needs of this congregation. To begin with, I’ve been able to take a few days to get to Andover and get acclimated and unpacked before our work together begins. Secondly, I’ve been prayerfully discerning how I will regularly care for my soul during our ministry together. This means planning for (and regularly taking!) a Sabbath day to rest my soul and my spirit. Based on the rhythm of Andover UMC and from what Pastor Jason has shared with me about the community, I will be taking Thursdays as my Sabbath. This means, I’ll be working on Fridays and able to participate in Friday church activities – like the food pantry and (when it returns) the community meal – as well as community activities (again when they start back up). And speaking of starting things again: Jason and I have already been talking extensively about how and when to have in-person gatherings again. Our first priority remains the first of John Wesley’s Simple Rules: Do No Harm, which reminds us that the safety of our members and community is the most important factor in our planning. As I officially get started, we’ll continue to discuss and plan and hope to have an update soon. In the meantime, we’ll see you online on Sundays at 9:30 and 11. I can’t wait to dive into our new sermon series as you hear about some of Jason and my favorite animated movies! Looking forward to getting started on our new ministry together! Blessings,

July 2020 Prayer List
When we join the United Methodist Church, we take a vow that we will be, loyal to the United Methodist Church and uphold it by Our Prayers, Our Presence, Our Gifts, Our Service and by Our Witness. Scriptures call us to celebrate
with those who celebrate and to grieve with those who grieve. We grow in connection with one another as we know the praises and concerns of the individual churches and respond in a manner of praise and/or prayer.
Please feel free to share your news that we may share especially the prayer concerns to the faith community.

Bearing Fruit that Lasts:
Called, Committed, Connected
When we gather virtually on September 26-27 for Annual Conference 2020,
we will be guided by the theme Bearing Fruit that Lasts: Called, Committed, Connected.
Worship, business, and fellowship will underscore the importance of being
connected to God, to our neighbors, and to our mission of
making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world
and bearing fruit that lasts.
The agenda for the re-scheduled Annual Conference session
has not yet been finalized.
People have asked what is the best way to continue to share my offerings and donations to the
church. Here are some of the best ways to do that:
Online Bill Pay from your Bank
- set up a one time or recurring gift through
your bank’s bill pay service
Church Website - "Giving" tab
- you can make a one time or recurring offering/donation
once you set up an account.
