LOHRI CELEBRATION

January’ 19
One of the major festivals of India, Lohri was
celebrated, with enthusiasm and fanfare at the institute.
Lohri festival is celebrated on 13th day of January,
every year. Lohri is also considered as harvest festival
and it is an important day for the farmers.
REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION

January’ 19
The Institute celebrated 68th anniversary of our
Republic Day on 26th Jan, 2019. The programme
started with the flag hoisting. To celebrate this
occasion the students participated in the cultural
programs and recited patriotic poems and presented
patriotic songs. The program also included youth
parliament session and speeches to show the diversity
and cultural richness of our country.
ANNUAL CULTURAL FESTIVAL
Anugoonj Prelims 29th
& 30th
January’ 19
Anugoonj has been conducted on 29th and 30th
January, 2019 at Banarsidas Chandiwala Institute of
Research and Technology where various participants
from different colleges which come under GGSIPU
have participated. For every competition one or two
students were send by different college, students
participated with zeal and enthusiasm. There were
various competitions in which students participated
such as - Light Vocal Music (Indian), Classical Vocal
solo (Hindustani & Carnatic), Western Vocal Solo,
Group dance (Indian), group dance (western). In
literary competition there were Quiz, Debate - Hindi
/English, Creative writing (Hindi /English), Just a
minute (Hindi /English), Poetry Recitation.
SPORTS DAY CELEBRATION

February'19
The institute has always been ahead in Co-curricular
activities for holistic development of their students and
sports being one of the key part of it. Therefore IVS
celebrated sports day on 8th
February'19. The various
sport activities such as athletics, cricket, musical chair,
tug of war, table tennis, chess, skipping race etc were
conducted. The opening ceremony was organised by
NSS students through March past parade. The chief
guest during the march past was Mr. Khalid Hashmi.
Students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.
Faculty members encouraged the students and made
the event successful.

SURAJKUND INTERNATIONAL CRAFT MELA

February’ 19
On 15th February, 2019 Institute of Vocational Studies
organised a one day educational trip to Surajkund
International Craft Mela, Faridabad, (Haryana) for D.EL.ED
students. The main objective of the trip was to make the
students aware of culture, art and craft of different states of
India along with neighbouring countries. The Surajkund
Mela is unique as it showcases the richness and diversity of
the handicrafts, handlooms and cultural fabric of India, and
is the largest crafts fair in the world. The outcome of the
trip was that our students enjoyed and learned so many
new things which they can use in their life and being a
teacher spread the uniqueness of India around the
world.
HARIT SPANDAN 2019
21st and 22
nd February, 2019
An inter college competition Spandan was organised on 21st
and 22nd February, 2019 at Awadh Bhawan on the theme;
“Vasundra Bhushan-Clean Green our Dream” .The event
was inaugurated by lamp lightning and blessing of Dr
Niranjana Soperna Principal IVS, followed by Quranic
verses, Saraswati Vandana. The events were organised on
various themes i.e. Rangoli Making, Collage Making, never
refuse to reuse, Quilling Art etc. Various colleges of
GGSIPU & SCERT participated in the events. All
participants were acknowledged with participation
certificate. Winners were motivated with gold, silver and
bronze medals by Managing Trustee Mr. Naushad Khalid in
the presence of Mr. Khalid Hashmi, Director Academics,
ACE.
EDUCATIONAL TRIP TO NCERT

March, 2019
On 8th
, 11th
and 12th March, 2019 educational trip to
NCERT - National Council of Educational and Research
Training was organised. Firstly, we were introduced with the
ICT in educational system given by Dr. Prakash on
Technology and use of technology in education such as
MOOC and E- Pathshaala, followed by puppet show and
how to use them in a classroom for a story telling. The
NCERT department has also took the initiative to show and
explain us about audio- visual broadcasting on various
channels of NCERT, how lights work, how audios are
arranged and modified, how different sessions are conducted
and then screened on television or on e-learning sites.
MAR-APR - 2019
ADVENTURE ISLAND
15th
March, 2019
Institute has organized a local trip to Adventure Island,
Rohini for students. The main objective of this visit was to
make students feel refreshed, amused and promoting strong
bonding among each of them. All of the students were
happy, laughing and enjoying together in the breath taking
rides. It was a thrilling as well as memorable fun filled
experience.
FAREWELL
B.Ed. & D.El.Ed.
The farewell party for the outgoing batch of B.Ed. &
D.El.Ed. students was organised in the month of March
2019. Just like every year, this was organised by the students
of 1st year who successfully managed to give an amazing
send- off to their beloved seniors. Each and every student co-
operated and put in their best efforts to make this show a
great success.
YOGA SESSION

March'2019
A few minutes of Yoga during the day can be a great way to
get rid of stress that accumulates daily-in both the body and
mind. Yogoda Satsanga Society of India has conducted a one
day workshop on Yoga and Meditation in Institute of
Vocational Studies on 29th March'2019(Friday). The experts
of the yogoda society have taken classes with high level of
dedication. They explained us about the concept of yoga and
showed us various asana and made us perform them. They
have also explained remedies for personal health problems to
the participants with lot of patience. The session was very
motivational and helped everyone to reduce the stress of our
daily life.

AWADH DAY

April’ 19
Awadh Day forms an integral part of our college / institute
activities. It is an occasion of celebration, felicitation, feast
& festivity where students present not only their wonderful
performances but also receive honours for their curricular &
co-curricular achievements. Awadh Day Celebration
which was on 4th
April, 2019 started with the Quranic Verses
and Saraswati Vandana by B.Ed. students. Followed by
presenting annual reports of all departments. It was followed
by the annual prize distribution ceremony. The annual
prize distribution function was a moment of pride & honour
for all the winner & achievers. The students were awarded
prizes in the academic as well as co-curricular areas. The
two-hours long cultural show held the audience in awe & left
hem enlightened as the show culminated various
entertainment programs were staged by the students
showcasing their extra ordinary talents like dance, singing
dramatics, fashion shows etc.

BOARD DECORATION

and B.Ed students decorate the board twice a
month with their house members. It is
according to theme like festivals, National
and International days etc.
There are 4 houses and every house
decorates its allotted board as per their turn.
WORKSHOP ON
“OPEN EDUCATIONAL RESOURCES
AND MOOCs”
A two days workshop was organized by
Institute of Vocational Studies,on the topic
“Open Educational Resources and MOOCs”
on 2nd
& 3rd
May, 2019. The resource
persons for the workshop were from CIET,
NCERT. The workshop was open for
academicians as well as research scholars
and students from other institutes and
universities. This workshop was organized
keeping in view the importance of ICT in the
field of education. The technical session was
dedicated to MOOC and OERs.
MOODLE & LMS (Learning Management
System) and its two components were also
discussed.
