A Story Worth TellingBut these are written so that you may believe that

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.

~ John 20:31 ~

From a very young age, we learn the basics of how stories unfold. There are characters—some good and some evil—who face a series of conflicts and struggles. Ultimately, the story ends and there is some kind of resolution, whether happy or sad.

Our favorite stories become a part of us—they stick with us and we know them like we know the stories of our own lives. They have a special way of transporting our minds to other places. Maybe that is why the Bible is filled with so many stories—it’s the best way to show us how real and incredible God’s love is!

This summer at the Fine Arts Academy we will explore how God uses stories to draw us closer to him, and invites us to play a role in his story—one that continues even today. We invite you to be a part of A Story Worth Telling at FAA 2020!

- Sam and Anna Moody, Fine Arts Academy Directors

We will explore Bible verses that speak to our personal stories and create images that tell of God’s love for us. If you love to doodle, you will love exploring art journaling and illustrating. We will use pens, markers, and color pencils in this class, so if you already have a favorite set at home, you may bring these supplies with you.

BOOK BINDING What is a book? Rip into a book (literally) to find out how a book functions, then spend the week sewing, binding, and casing a blank book you can take home with you at the end of the week.

CALLIGRAPHY Create a beautiful bookmark for your Bible or other special book using italic calligraphy. All levels welcome.

CARTOONING New students can expect to learn the fundamentals of illustrating by practicing with their favorite cartoon characters. Returning students will get the opportunity to build on their skills by learning how to create their own comic!
