    Kohlers No. 1 singles ten-nis player, freshman CaseyJohnson, ended his regularseason with a 19-1 record andreceived the No. 3 seeding atthe WIAADivision 2 singlesstate tennis tournament.

    After a first round BYE,Johnson defeated Plymouthjunior Matt Primozic in thesecond round 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-4. In the semi-finals Johnsonfell to The Prairie Schoolssophomore Juan Perez, 6-4,6-3. Johnson then won thethird place match againstEdgewood Sacred Heartsophomore Cecil Lingard, 7-6 (5), 6-4.

    The No. 1 doubles team ofsenior Noah Fink and sopho-more Archie Brohn finishedthe regular season with a 16-4 record. In the first round oftournament play Fink andBrohn defeated Chilton sen-iors Evan Greuel and AaronReilly 6-3, 4-6, (4). In thesecond round, Fink andBrohn fell to seniors KevinNoriega and Matt Monahanof Monroe after a closematch, 6-3, 6-7 (1), 7-5.

    It was Finks secondstraight trip to the state tour-nament.

    The Sheboygan LakersSquirt 3B hockey team tookfirst place in the Milk &Cookie Classic Squirt BHockey Tournament hostedin Janesville after beatingthree teams and going unde-feated in four games.

    The Lakers faced theJanesville J-Hawks in thefirst game, winning 4-1.Will Johnson, Teague Pil-grim, and Dylan Videtic se-cured goals, Jacob Foxcontributed with two assists.

    In their second contest theLakers defeated the BeloitBlades 6-2. Dylan Videticand Owen Hayon led withtwo goals each, along with

    Jacob Fox and Drake Mobergeach adding a goal.

    The Lakers faced theStoughon Vikings in the thirdgame, defeating them 10-0.Scoring effort led by JacobFox with a hat trick, addi-tional goals by Owen Hayon,Will Johnson, Drake Moberg,Teague Pilgrim, and DylanVidetic.

    Defensemen Noah Fibigerand Austin Schuh also con-tributed with goals. TeaguePilgrim recorded his 50thgoal of the season in the thirdperiod.

    The victory qualified theLakers to enter the champi-onship game. This featured a

    rematch against the hostteam, Janesville. In a muchcloser game, the Lakers man-aged to hold onto the leadand take the tournament withthe teams fourth straight vic-tory that weekend, 4-3.Teague Pilgrim lead the Lak-ers in scoring in the champi-onship game with two goals.Owen Hayon and Will John-son each added goals to com-plete the scoring efforts.

    The Lakers received indi-vidual awards during thetournament including goalieBennett Waara, who earned aShut-out Award and JacobFox, who earned a Hat TrickAward.

    The Golf Coaches Asso-ciation of Wisconsin(GCAW) is pleased to an-nounce that CharlieTwohig, Amanda Egbert,Sam Kohler, AndrewBryce, and Brady Ste-fanczyk of Kohler HighSchool are Academic All-State honorees for the boysgolf season.

    Students are submittedby GCAW member coachesif they meet the followingcriteria: 1) A cumulativegrade point average of atleast 3.25, 2) participationin at least 75% of their

    teams varsity matches, and3) are at least a sophomorein high school.

    Charlie, Amanda, Sam,Andrew and Brady are stu-dent-athletes who serve asgreat examples to others,proving that academic andathletic successes are notmutually exclusive.

    The coaches associationis proud to announce arecord 365 boys from 126high schools have beenhonored this year for main-taining high academic stan-dards in the classroomwhile competing in varsity

    golf. In fact, the averagecumulative GPA of thisyears honorees is an ex-ceptional 3.720.

    The GCAW was formedby high school golf coachesin 1986 to help build Wis-consin's reputation for de-veloping quality juniorplayers by promoting golfin our schools and commu-nities. Besides honoringboth boys and girls whosucceed as student athletes,the association also selectsan annual All-State teamfor boys and girls based ontheir playing ability.
