Presidents Message If you weren’t at our annual club picnic, you
certainly missed a great experience. First off, I
want to thank all those Folks on the Picnic
Committee for doing such a great job‐James
Brussel for arranging the facility, Steve Calandra
for providing the musical entertainment, Al
Bernotas for performing the Chief Extraordinaire
duties, and finally, Gerry and Lou Thackeray for
providing all the good quality “Eats” that we
enjoyed so much. Its members like these that
make a club great. The weather was threatening,
so vintage vehicle attendance was low.
Fortunately, folks still came out in their daily
drivers. We had over 40 participants, including a
few folks from the local Corvette club and a
Corvair that came all the way from Scranton, Pa!
On a business note, the Club Membership voted to
donate $1000 to the New Jersey Auto Museum.
Not only will the Museum benefit from this action,
but so will our club. The museum will create a
commemorative plaque of our donation and hang
it on their walls for all visitors to see. Additionally,
we will receive credit on their website‐our hopes
is that it may generate some new members for our
club
Please remember top `come out to the Burlington
Chevrolet Car display on June 1st at 10:30 am. This
event features two benefits‐a free barbeque lunch
for you and it also draws donation money for our
club treasury. Make your plans now to attend this
show, there are always a lot of passers‐by asking
questions about of unique Chevys. Happy
Memorial Day weekend to all, lets us not forget
the sacrifices our American soldiers make to
preserve our freedoms.
Moving forward to July 13, don’t forget the
annual, ever popular Dennery Summer Hot Rod
Bash. Please see the details for the Dennery Hot
Rod picnic and directions later in this newsletter.
That’s all for now.
Keep ‘em Rollin’ Tom
