I hope that everyone is starting the summer season off with feelings of happiness and excitement! It’s a good time to take a step back and relax and enjoy life! I love to be out- side and get really warm and then step inside to the coolness of the air conditioning and feel the calm and serenity surround me. It’s also a great time to be creative and spend more time painting! Once in the “creative mode,” life seems to move more smoothly overall! GCDA has some fun summer activities coming up! Jo Ann Heurich will be teach- ing a Shrinky-dink class on June 14 that is adorable, and just in time for the pat- riotic days ahead. July’s teacher is Nancy Vincent, and August is the annual bus trip to HOOT!! Please try to participate any way that you can! Please also consider bringing a friend, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, neighbor, or co-worker! My sister -in-law and daughter are now both members, and it is so much fun having all of us at a meeting! It takes all of us working together as one to make the group stronger by bringing in new members!     Happy summer! I hope that everyone is starting the summer season off with feelings of happiness and excitement! Its a good time to take a step back and relax and enjoy life!     GCDA has some fun summer activities coming up! Jo Ann Heurich will be teach-

    HOOT BUS TRIP Alice Goldfuss, Coordinator

    ALL ABOARD FOR THE HOOT BUS! Its time to clear your schedule

    and have a fun day for yourself and friends at the HOOT Conven-

    tions Product Show. Mark your calendar now for Thursday, Au-

    gust 6th. Next, write a check to GCDA for $35.00 and send it to Al-

    ice Goldfuss, 4389 Simca Lane, Cincinnati. OH 45211. Please in-

    clude a cell phone number in case we need to reach you on bus

    day and also where you want to be picked up - either Sams off I-74

    and North Bend Road or Kenwood, in Sycamore Plaza by Toys R

    Us/Macys Furniture. A third location in Lebanon off I-71 is also

    available if needed.

    You can also sign up during the June 14th meeting. Please bring

    your check with you. All payments need to be made before July

    13th to receive your wrist band and booklet when you board the

    bus. The bus from Sams lot will leave promptly at 8 am. We will

    have water and muffins to enjoy along the way. Those boarding in

    Kenwood will be picked up about 8:30 am depending on traffic flow.

    Please note: After July 13, you can still join in the bus fun up to the

    last minute! Make your check out to GCDA for $25.00 and you will

    need to get your wrist band and booklet at the door upon arrival.

    Admission is $10 this year.

    June Program Report Emily Stamm, VP Programs

    The busy month of June is here! Such a fun month! Our GCDA meeting is June 14th!! If youre in town, please plan to come to the meetingthen stay to paint with Jo Ann Heurich. She is teaching a Patriotic Shrinky Dink pendant and earrings for $5.00. More details are found in this newsletter. This will be a very fun class! Please plan ahead by emailing me and sending me your class fee by June 10th.

    We accomplished a lot at our May 17th meeting, but sadly, the watercolor class was cancelled because the teacher, Gayle Laible, injured her knee and was unable to attend. We send wishes for a speedy re-covery to Gayle!

    Thank you for all of your suggestions and help in keeping active with GCDA. Please come to our monthly meetings and take classes and seminars!

    April Retreat was loads of fun. A check for excess was presented to club President Linda - $1,501.23.

    The importance of supporting the yearly retreat was discussed.

    Christmas Raffle: Melanie Wilmhoff

    The painting of baskets and ornaments is one requirement for a Member in Good Standing. (There are other require-ments as well.) Members in Good Standing receive two $15 seminar vouchers and a $15 retreat voucher annually. The baskets and ornaments are raffled at the Christmas Party.
