Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us totriumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his

knowledge by us in every place (2 Corinthians 2:14).

GGod’s divine plan for us is to live triumphantly inChrist Jesus. The word “triumph” doesn’t just

mean victory, but a great or important victory; notablesuccess or achievement. It also means to prevail. It’s thesuccessful ending of a struggle or contest.

There’re certain important points to note in theopening verse. First, is the phrase, “…always causes us totriumph in Christ….” Thus, it’s God’s desire to divinely positionyou to have great and important victories, notable successes,or achievements always—not sometimes. This is your life-timeheritage in Christ Jesus; it makes no difference what happens,where you find yourself, or who’s against you; God has madeyou triumphant!

In Christ, we don’t pray to be victorious; it’s ourheritage; it’s our life! We were born to triumph always, and inevery place. That’s what the Word says; read it again: “Now“Nowthanksthanks bebe untounto God,God, whichwhich alwaysalways causethcauseth usus toto triumphtriumph ininChrist,Christ, andand makethmaketh manifestmanifest thethe savoursavour ofof hishis knowledgeknowledge bybyusus inin everyevery place.”place.” How wonderful this is! IIf all we read in Genesis 1 was, “In“In thethe beginningbeginning GodGodcreatedcreated thethe heavensheavens andand thethe earth…,”earth…,” it would be

right to presume that God doesn’t talk; He just does things!But the Bible didn’t stop there. It begins by telling us that inthe beginning God created the heavens and the earth, andtells us how He did it: through words, letting us know thatGod talks. Through the energy of words, He reframed andbrought order to the world, which had become a chaoticmass.

What God did at the beginning was to reveal Hischaracter to us as a Creator, showing us how to bring order,beauty, and glory to our lives, and change circumstancesand situations through the energy of words. As a child ofGod, having the Holy Spirit in you, you can never bedisadvantaged. By your words, you can chart your course invictory and success. You can make your life triumphant.

Whatever you say, as long as it’s consistent with God’sWord, will surely come to pass. Amidst adversity, declare,“I’m rich in all things, for the Lord has given me richly all thingsto enjoy!” Affirm that good things are coming your way andhappening for you and around you, because the Word saysthe earth is full of the goodness of the Lord.

Remember, you were created in the image andlikeness of God; that means you look like Him, and can

GGod never told us to follow or make somecelebrities our examples, because He already told

us in His Word whom to emulate: “THEREFORE“THEREFORE BEBE imitatorsimitatorsofof GodGod [copy[copy HimHim andand followfollow HisHis example],example], asas well-belovedwell-belovedchildrenchildren [imitate[imitate theirtheir father]”father]” (Ephesians 5:1AMP). So, we’reto copy Jesus and emulate His lifestyle.

In addition, we’re to follow the examples of men andwomen of faith whose exploits are chronicled for us in theWord: “Remember“Remember themthem whichwhich havehave thethe rulerule overover you,you, whowhohavehave spokenspoken untounto youyou thethe wordword ofof God:God: whosewhose faithfaith follow,follow,consideringconsidering thethe endend ofof theirtheir conversation”conversation” (Hebrews 13:7).He wants you to be inspired by those who have taught youthe Word of God, and have prevailed through the sameWord. Follow their examples of faith. It’s part of the reason weshare testimonies of our faith exploits so God’s people can bebuilt up, edified and strengthened in their faith-life.

For example, we lay hands on the sick because that’swhat the Word says we should do, and more so, we see suchremarkable examples from the Lord Himself. In Bible days, Hehealed the sick and restored health to many: “...they“...they broughtbroughtuntounto himhim allall sicksick peoplepeople thatthat werewere takentaken withwith diversdivers diseasesdiseasesandand torments,torments, andand thosethose whichwhich werewere possessedpossessed withwith devils,devils,andand thosethose whichwhich werewere lunatick,lunatick, andand thosethose thatthat hadhad thethe palsy;palsy;andand hehe healedhealed them”them” (Matthew 4:24).

It was the same story with the Apostles; they repeatedthe same acts of faith they saw with the Master and it worked.We’re doing the same today in the mighty and matchless

Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and countless testimoniesabound. Many are being healed, and many others, who haveseen such faith-filled ministrations on TV, the internet, orthrough our publications, have had their faith stirred for themiraculous! We’re merely following His steps.

…What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of Godmost high? I beseech thee, torment me not. (For he hadcommanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man…

(Luke 8:28-29).

TThere’re those who seem to have questions aboutwhat happened in Luke 8, when Jesus cast the devils

out of a certain mad man in Gadara. Jesus had asked thedevils to come out, but they didn’t; rather, the man ran toJesus. Why didn’t the devils come out immediately, ratherthan the man running to Jesus? Let me explain.

First, you need to understand that every human beinghas to run his own life; you can’t cast the devil out ofsomeone who doesn’t want the devil to go, except the personplaces himself under your influence. This mad man at Gadara,the Bible says, was possessed by demons for a long time. Hewore no clothes and lived in graveyards and caves. He was somaniacal that he cut himself with sharp stones, night and day,and anytime he was bound with chains and fetters, he brokethem (Luke 8:27-33).

However, when he saw Jesus, he ran towards Him.Now, something happened before he ran towards Jesus;when Jesus was still a distance away, the devil in him cried outwith a loud voice; that’s what we read in our opening verse;this happened when the Lord first commanded the devil tocome out of the man. So, even though the devil didn’t leavethe man, he couldn’t stop him from running to Jesus.

Until the man in question placed himself under theMaster’s influence, by running towards Him, he couldn’t behelped. It’s the same way today.

darkness in the Name of Jesus. If there’s anything you’reuncomfortable with, and you can perceive that Satan is theone responsible, cast him out. You don’t have to shout orcome out of your room to do it; there’s no distance in therealm of the spirit. Call him by name and tell him to stop hisoperations and maneuvers; it doesn’t matter where he is inthis world, he’ll hear you.

However, remember, when it has to do with castinghim out of a person, it works best when that one placeshimself under your influence.

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye,being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to

comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, andlength, and depth, and height (Ephesians 3:17-18).

NNotice that Paul, in the verse above, didn’t say, “ThatJesus may dwell in your hearts by faith….” Rather,

he said, “That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith….” Jesushas ascended to heaven; the man Jesus is in heaven. So, whathe’s talking about here isn’t the man Jesus Christ dwelling inyou, rather, he’s talking about all that’s in the character,personality, potency of the glory and graces of Christ; thepersonification of Christ in you. And that’s done by the HolySpirit.

That’s why, when we say, “Christ in a man” we’relooking at the character, the beauty, all of the glory, power,and the righteousness of God encapsulated in a man. So, aChristian isn’t just a religious person; a Christian is that man inwhom Christ resides.

The word “dwell” as used in our opening verse alsomeans, “settle”; so a Christian is one in whom Christ hassettled. In other words, being born again, Christ has madeHis abode in the quarters of your heart; all the qualities,personality, and the character of Christ are tabernacled inyour spirit! You’ve now become like Him, because He hassettled and made His home in your heart by faith; everythingabout Him is now resident in your spirit.

No wonder the Bible says as He is, so are we in thisworld (1 John 4:17); because His very life, the very quality of

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the lightof the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in

darkness, but shall have the light of life (John 8:12).

LLight gives colour and beauty to life, and the lightunder which you live will determine your

understanding, perceptions and way of life. Some people liveunder the wrong light, and as a result, their lives are out ofjoint; they’ve found themselves in a different environmentrather than God’s environment. Light gives ambience. Itcreates the atmosphere for an environment. When God givesyou His Word, through the Holy Spirit, He creates in it anenvironment for you to live in. The light of His Word gives youthe atmosphere in that environment.

As long as you live in that environment, the light thatGod gives you will not be refracted; you’ll never go in thewrong direction. He leads us through His light. There’s anambience created by the Word of God in which God expectsyou to live. It’s this same atmosphere that He sent us to createfor those who live in darkness.

The Bible says the dark places of the earth are filledwith the habitations of cruelty (Psalm 74:20). That’s talkingabout spiritual darkness, where the unsaved live. It’s filled withwickedness, and devils of darkness who oppress their mindsand make them think they’re wise, whereas they’re walking infoolishness and in darkness. When we come in, and light uptheir world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the right ambienceis created and the darkness and cruelty are dispelled.

Do you see why preaching the Gospel is compulsoryfor every Christian? Only through the light of the Gospelcan we create the ambience of righteousness in our

environments, cities, towns, and nations. That’s God’s onlysaving power to bring men out of darkness, into Hismarvellous light.

by his Spirit in the inner man (Ephesians 3:14-16).

WWhat an inspiring prayer of the Spirit renderedthrough Paul, the Apostle, for the Church! He

prays that God would grant you, according to the riches ofHis glory, to be strengthened with might in your inner man.The word translated “Might” means miracle-working ability;God wants every one of us to be invigorated withmiracle-working ability; which means none of us is ordinary orshould live an ordinary life. This is God’s will for every one ofus; He wants you strengthened from within, for thesupernatural life.

There’s no need griping over your inabilities or lack ofstrength; there’s no need to be afraid or intimidated by theoppositions you face! There’s no need to faint or lose heartover anything! The will of God has already been expressedin the Spirit’s prayer for you in our opening verse! Live inthat scripture. Irrespective of how you look outwardly, maybefeeble, or weak, always declare, “I’m strengthened fromwithin!” Confess faith and strength all the time.

That’s the way to respond to the Word of God. Goddidn’t only give us His Word to quote, memorize or recite;He gave us His Word to use, and to live by, and we haveto respond to it accordingly. You have to agree with theWord, and say repeatedly, “I’m invigorated from within by theHoly Ghost; I’m not weak! I’m energized for victory and the

supernatural life, because the Holy Ghost lives in me!” Amos3:3 says, “Can“Can twotwo walkwalk together,together, exceptexcept theythey bebe agreed?”agreed?”So, when God speaks, you say the same thing in agreementwith Him, and it produces results.

Whatever God says to you is for your benefit, andrequires the right response. So, respond in harmony with HisWord. Talk strength always, and faith will rise up within youand you’ll discomfit lurking adversities.

…To whom God would make known what is the riches ofthe glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which isChrist in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:26-27).

IIn the opening verse, the Apostle Paul unveils themystery that was hidden from ages and from

generations; that mystery is “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”What does this mean to you? I need you to ponder on it for amoment.

In certain places in Scripture, where the word “Christ”is used, it could refer to Jesus—the messiah. When he says “Christ in you, the hope of glory,” he’stalking about the anointing on the person of Christ Jesus. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hillcannot be hid (Matthew 5:14).

AAs a believer in Christ Jesus, you’re the light of theworld! Jesus said so. Therefore, you must fulfil your

calling as the light of the world. Light gives meaning,describes, and gives direction; it reveals the true nature ofthings. Until you turn the light on, you wouldn’t know what’scovered in darkness. You might feel the objects, but their truestate or meaning is only revealed when the lights are turnedon.

For example, you may have an expensive necklace ora wristwatch on, but its glitter will be lost in the dark. No onemay be able to tell its real value even if they felt it on you. Itmight have even been made of gold, but until light shines onit, its value (meaning) isn’t seen and appreciated.

Now, being the light of the world, you’re sent by Godto give meaning to the lives of men in this world. For example,when we say in our ministry, “Christ Embassy, Giving YourLife A Meaning” that’s what we’re talking about. He sent us togive meaning to people’s lives. There’re those who say, “I’mjust an ordinary person; my life has no meaning, I’m just livingfrom day to day!” No; not when you’re born again! In Christ,not only does your life have a meaning, you’re ordained tohelp give meaning to the lives of others through God’s Word.

the power of words. The first speech we notice from God wasn’t tosomebody; rather, He started by talking to situations andcircumstances. He was making things happen through thepower of speech, showing us what we’re supposed to do withwords. He wanted light and He said, “…let there be light,” andlight came into being. He gave us the ability to speak so thatlike Him, we can call into existence the things we want to seein our lives and environment. Halleluiah!

Your words locate you; what you say determineswhere you’ll be in life. That’s the reason it’s so important foryou to avoid talking negatively. For instance, when a Christiandeclares, “I can’t do such-and such,” he may think that onlyapplies to the context of that particular statement, but it’s notso! That statement immediately works in his spirit and affectshis divine nature.

YYears ago, there were statements many were fond ofmaking that just didn’t go down well with my spirit.

For example, in referring to something that was trending or invogue, they’d say, “This dress is what’s reigning” or “Thisbrand of car is what’s reigning now.” I couldn’t accept such orpermit anyone to say such around me, because nothing, andno one else reigns, but Jesus, and He reigns through me.

I think this way because the Word has cultured myunderstanding. The Word of God has given me anextraordinary mentality; I can’t think otherwise. Make up yourmind to be cultured by the Word; it’s something you haveto do for yourself. Follow the Word; copy Jesus; emulate Hislifestyle. Study the way He lived and ministered, and followHis examples.

Only the Word of God can mould you into that manor woman that God has destined you to be. It doesn’t matteryour background; you can be cultured by the Word; it’sa choice that you have to make. I may not know whatinfluences you might have been exposed to, and why youthink the way you do, but I know that the Word of God cangive you a new mentality.

Let God’s Word be the light by which you see allthings. Let it guide you in your marriage, ministry, academics,business, finances, and every area of your life. Let youroutlook on life be from the perspective of God’s Word. Whenyou allow the Word of God to culture your spirit, His glory

TThe word translated “fervent” above is the Greek“zeo”; it means to boil with heat for liquid; or glow

with heat for solids. Thus, to be “fervent in spirit” is to boil inyour spirit with the Word of God, and glow on the outside.That’s why the Moffat translation says, “Maintain the glow”;because there’s a glow of the Spirit in your life. The New KingJames version says, “Keep yourself aglow with the spirit”; theAmplified translation says, “…be aglow {and} burning with theSpirit….”

That’s what God wants; He doesn’t want you slothful,languid or docile. He wants you vibrant, exuberant, and aglowin the spirit always. Some people are slothful about goingto church, or about the things of God; they’re uninterestedin spiritual activities. Don’t be that way! Be active in soulwinning; be involved in encouraging and bringing others tothe house of God. Passionately pray and intercede for lostsouls; it’s part of your ministry in the Gospel as a child of God.

You’re an ambassador of Jesus Christ, and of theChurch to which you belong; never forget it. You’re to speakon behalf of Christ and, of your church. Your church is yourspiritual family; bring others into that family so they can hearthe same Word of God that has built and edified you! Touchthe lives of others with the Gospel.

Maintain your zeal and fire for the Gospel. Remainpassionate about the spiritual; that is, be on fire in your spirit,and glow on the outside! How do you achieve that? First,

IIf you don’t know the Word of God, you’ll live belowGod’s dream for you. Your life wouldn’t be the

expression of what He really wants; you can’t fulfil His desireand His plans for your life. There’re too many who live on thebasis of assumptions; on what they “think” the Word says, andnot what it actually says, and that’s sad. That somebody saidsomething nice and religious isn’t enough for you to accept it.Study it for yourself. Just because it sounded like somethingGod could have said doesn’t mean it came from God.

The Bible tells us something inspiring about a certaingroup of Christians in the city of Berea, describing them asnoble: “These“These werewere moremore noblenoble thanthan thosethose inin Thessalonica,Thessalonica, ininthatthat theythey receivedreceived thethe wordword withwith allall readinessreadiness ofof mind,mind, andandsearchedsearched thethe scripturesscriptures daily,daily, whetherwhether thosethose thingsthings werewere so”so”(Acts 17:11). Did you see that? They didn’t give room forassumptions. Whatever they were taught in the Word, theywent back to the Scriptures to study in order to be sure thatwhat they had been taught was in line with God’s revealedthoughts.

You can’t know the mind of God until you know theWord of God. His Word is His will and mind expressed.Therefore, study the Scriptures for yourself. Don’t say, “Whatif I don’t understand?” You have the Holy Spirit, and partof His ministry in your life is to help you understand theScriptures. What’s more? Jesus said it’s your heritage tounderstand the Scriptures—the mysteries of the Kingdom:“…Unto“…Unto youyou itit isis givengiven toto knowknow thethe mysteriesmysteries ofof thethe kingdomkingdomofof God…”God…” (Luke 8:10).

IIf you haven’t made up your mind to enjoy your life,you can make that decision today, because that’s

God’s will for you (John 10:10). He wants you to have goodhealth, to be strong, vibrant, prosperous, and influentialenough to help others. You have to be in a position ofadvantage to be able to lift others, and be a blessing.

One has to be financially influential to makemeaningful impact in spreading the Gospel around the world.In our ministry, for example, the tremendous impact we makeall around the world, in hosting large crusades andconferences, airing TV programmes etc., cost lots of money.We’re grateful to the Lord for empowering us to be able todo all that!

Preaching the Gospel is akin to fishing in a river; it canbe done in different ways. You could jump into the water,swim, and try to catch some fish with your hands; you won’tget a lot of them that way though! You could also place ahook in a strategic spot in the water, and bait the fish toswallow the bait. You still may not get very many. Anotheroption is to cast a net into the water. With the net, you’ll morelikely get a haul; a better result. However, it’ll certainly costyou more to use the net.

God wants us to be prosperous. Those who gotacquainted with Jesus in the course of His earthly ministrybecame empowered to bless others; they had greaterinfluence, reach and impact in their time. That’s what He’sdone with your life; you’re blessed to be a blessing.

When people pray for a revival in a city or for thesalvation of souls, God doesn’t come down from heavenHimself to make it happen; He sends a man. For example, the man of God or Pastor that God sendsto you bears the anointing for your benefit. As the Pastorstands in that office and functions in it, that anointing willwork through him, to bless you. It’s the Spirit’s calling on hislife, but it’s the Spirit’s blessing for you. This is one reason youmust be a functional member of a Church where the Word ofGod is taught.

PPart of the reason young people can be verysuccessful, where older people fail, is that many

young people don’t know enough to be afraid. Most olderpeople know too much; they have too much informationabout what doesn’t work. They remember when they triedout something and it failed, and so they became cynical. It’s alot harder to inspire such people to make a fresh move orhave a fresh start.

Understand that being old in this context isn’t so muchabout a person’s age, but about the state of his mind. Yourbody might age, but refuse to age in your mind. Think fresh;think success. God loves to use young people, because theythink fresh all the time; they easily believe, and are alwayspassionate about learning something new.

It’s never too late to learn and be inspired by a dreamof success. Even if you’re already grey-headed and advancedin years, God can still use you. Moses was one hundred andtwenty years old when he died, and at that age, he was stillstrong and vibrant. The Bible says, “...His“...His eyesighteyesight waswas sharp;sharp;hehe stillstill walkedwalked withwith aa springspring inin hishis step”step” (Deuteronomy 34:7MSG).

What will you be like when you’re ninety-two? I cantell, if you put this message to work: You won’t be cryingthat nothing works. Instead, you’ll be the one teaching andimparting faith to the younger generation. You’ll be changinglives with the Gospel, speaking in tongues, prophesying, andspeaking words of faith by the power of the Holy Spirit!

There were economic hardships back then as there aretoday; there were recessions and depressions. People lived infear because of terrorism. Our God, however, has been faithful throughout allgenerations. In the midst of the darkness, He has led Hispeople in perpetual triumph and kept His promises. Someone once said, “I’m now very religious, since Ibecame a Christian”; no! That’s a complete misunderstandingof who a Christian is. A Christian is one in whom God dwells;a partaker of the divine nature—an associate of the God-kind.This makes Christianity so sublime! God wasn’t satisfied tomerely be with or live amongst us, He chose rather to take upHis abode in the quarters of our hearts! That’s the beauty andglory of Christianity! It’s the life of God lived out through you.It’s the unveiling of the Living Word in a human life!

Until and unless this becomes your understanding ofChristianity, all you have will be mere religion. The essenceof Christianity, the reason we go to church, pray, preach theGospel and do the things we do as Christians isn’t becausewe’ve embraced a religion, but because we’ve receivedGod’s nature—His life. TThe Scriptures chronicle for us Bible characters whowere very prosperous; men like Abraham, Isaac,

Jacob, David, Solomon, etc. God had beautiful testimoniesabout these ones.

Let’s examine some of these men and what theScriptures recorded about them, beginning with Abraham.The Bible says he “…was“…was veryvery richrich inin cattle,cattle, inin silver,silver, andandinin gold”gold” (Genesis 13:2). Then, Genesis 26:12-14 talks aboutAbraham’s son, Isaac: “…he“…he hadhad possessionpossession ofof flocks,flocks, andandpossessionpossession ofof herds,herds, andand greatgreat storestore ofof servants:servants: andand thethePhilistinesPhilistines enviedenvied him.”him.”

Then what about Jacob? Genesis 36:6-7 shows us thatJacob and Esau had so much possessions that they couldn’tlive together in the same place; the land couldn’t support their“combined assets”—herds of livestock. So, Esau had to movea considerable distance away from his brother Jacob. Godidentified Himself with these three great patriarchs. He said,“...I“...I amam thethe GodGod ofof thythy father,father, thethe GodGod ofof Abraham,Abraham, thethe GodGodofof Isaac,Isaac, andand thethe GodGod ofof Jacob...”Jacob...” (Exodus 3:6).

Another character is David. The Bible tells us that hewas “…full“…full ofof days,days, wealth,wealth, andand glory.glory. HisHis sonson SolomonSolomon ruledruledafterafter him”him” (1 Chronicles 29:28 MSG). These were God’sfriends, and God’s testimony of them was extraordinary. Hecalled Abraham, “my friend” (James 2:23). He called David“a man after my heart” (Acts 13:22). And both of them werevery prosperous. What about Job? The Bible says he was therichest man in all the East (Job 1:3).

WWhen Jesus died on the cross, in the mind of justice,the whole world died with Him, because He died

for all men. However, Christianity didn’t start from His death,but from His resurrection. When God raised Him from thedead, you were raised together with Him, and you became anew creation, alive to God, with the transcendent life. Thenew creation is the fruit of His redemption (Romans 8:23).You’ve been brought out of death—spiritual death—into life!You came alive with Christ with His resurrection life.

Knowing this, therefore, knowing that you’ve beenraised together with Christ, and seated with Him in theheavenly realms, the Bible says you should seek those thingswhich are above! Have the consciousness of one who’s bornfrom above, and is seated together with Christ in the placeof dominion, glory and power! Let the things of God, of Hisheavenly kingdom to which you’ve been born, mean more toyou than the transient things of this earth.

Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, wasglad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart

they would cleave unto the Lord (Acts 11:23).

LLuke, by the inspiration of the Spirit, explains in theverse above, how Barnabas and Paul went to visit

the brethren, and they saw the grace of God. What does itmean to “See the grace of God?”

“Grace” is from the Greek word “charis”; it refers tothe divine influence on the heart reflected in the life of aman. It’s the outward expression, or the outworking of aninward divine influence in your heart. Simply put, it’s the innerworking of the glory and the power of God in your life thatradiates, shines, and reflects on the outside. So, what theseApostles saw was an outer reflection of the inner working ofthe power, and life, and nature of God in them—they saw theeffects of that grace.

You only see the outworking of the grace of God. It’slike saying “We saw the winds blowing.” You really don’t seethe wind; what you see are the effects of the wind. The effectscould be moving objects, or the branches of a tree moving toand fro; then you can immediately decipher that it’s a strongwind. You don’t see the wind; what you see are the effects!

It’s the same way with the description in the openingverse. The grace of God on its own can’t be seen untilyou see what it produces. So, the Lord impresses on yourheart, through His Word and the Holy Spirit, and whatever isdeposited by that influence, is seen on the outside; it showsor reveals itself on the outside. Then we can say, just like theearly Church, “We saw the grace of God on them.”

TThe opening verse shows us a key ingredient for asuccessful and prosperous life—diligence! Some

people find themselves in a regrettable state in life due to theirinability to apply diligence in their lives, and in the things thatGod has called them to do.

The Lord Jesus was humbly diligent; He said in John4:34, “…my“…my meatmeat isis toto dodo thethe willwill ofof himhim thatthat sentsent meme andandtoto finishfinish hishis work.”work.” He recognized that His success was indoing the work of the Father, and finishing it. TThere’re certain kinds of communications permissiblefor Christians at the lower level of spiritual

understanding. For example, at an evangelical meeting, Imight say, “God is going to heal you today,” and diversehealing miracles will take place. That statement is a truth, buta lesser truth. I’ll explain.

Genesis 1:16 talks about different lights: “And“And GodGodmademade twotwo greatgreat lights;lights; thethe greatergreater lightlight toto rulerule thethe day,day, andandthethe lesserlesser lightlight toto rulerule thethe night:night: hehe mademade thethe starsstars also.”also.”Light stands for truth. So, there’re lesser truths and there’regreater truths. The lesser and generic truth is that “God isgoing to heal you.” But there’s such a thing as being specific.It’s like specialization in the academia. At the first level, you’retaught the rudiments. As you move higher, you’re taughtspecifics—areas that only the initiated should come into. It’sthe same thing spiritually.

The more you delve into the Word of God, the moreyou realize that God is really not “doing” anything foranybody today in the sense that many understand it. He’salready done everything He needed to do; He has fulfilledeverything in Christ Jesus! So, He’s not making any effort toheal you; He’s already done it! If you thought, “O God, you’rereally going to heal me today”; that’s a lesser truth.

In certain kinds of meetings, we teach and preach thegeneral truth, so the non-Christians present at such meetingscould hear the Word of God, be blessed and receive Christ.But at certain other meetings, we unveil the Word so God’s

people can learn and put it to work for themselves; we moveto the higher classes and show them the reality of God’sWord.

Refuse to remain in the lower class, like the CorinthianChristians that the Apostle Paul chided for being carnal.Rather, transcend the babyhood stage of Christianity. Grow inChrist and increase in the knowledge of God’s Word! Growand function at higher levels, for there’s a higher life in Christ!

TThe Lord Jesus used the illustration above to explainsomething profound about authority. He instructed

the disciples to do whatever the Scribes and Pharisees toldthem to do, because they (the Scribes and Pharisees)represented Moses. However, He was quick to admonish thedisciples not to act like them.

As a Christian, you sit on Jesus’ seat. Your authorityover devils and the powers of darkness isn’t based on yourability; it’s the authority of Christ. All of nature and creation,including Satan and his cohorts, have been commanded tohear and obey you, just as they were commanded to hear andobey Jesus (Matthew 17:5). Therefore, whatever you tell themto do, they must do! This is a spiritual principle, and Satan andhis demons understand it; cast them out, and they’ll be gone.

Even if Satan tries to oppose you and says, “You can’tcast me out, because you don’t have enough power, andhaven’t prayed enough,” your response should be, “I sit onJesus’ seat! Therefore, I order you to come out!”

You have to understand who Satan is; he’s the opposerand accuser: “…for“…for thethe accuseraccuser ofof ourour brethrenbrethren isis castcast down,down,whichwhich accusedaccused themthem beforebefore ourour GodGod dayday andand night”night”(Revelation 12:10). TheLord didn’t say to Joshua, “You see now. If you were doingthe right thing, Satan won’t be here to resist you.” Rather, Heturned to Satan and said, “The Lord rebuke you!”

In Christ, you’re irreproachable. Christ reconciled youin the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy,faultless, and blameless in the sight of God. Satan may accuseyou all he wants, and fuss about your inability to cast him out,it makes no difference! You sit on Jesus’ seat: You’re seatedtogether with Him in the heavenly realm—at the right hand ofGod Almighty—the place of dominion, power, and authority!

Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tonguepray that he may interpret (1 Corinthians 14:13).

TThe Bible says Jesus Christ is the embodiment of allknowledge and wisdom (Colossians 2:3); and

you’re complete in Him (Colossians 2:10). This is what makesit possible for you to know anything through the Holy Spirit. Iadmonish God’s people to speak in tongues all the time,because it’s the coded language of the Spirit! It’s the quickestway to activate and condition your spirit to receive spiritualinformation and guidance.

Perhaps you require guidance for something, or there’sa piece of information you need; speak in tongues. Go onuntil you know you’ve got the guidance or counsel you need,or the information you require. The answer may be given toyou in your spirit, in other tongues. In that case, you’ll requirethe gift of interpretation of tongues. This is important becauseif you can’t interpret the answer in your understanding, youmay not be able to apply it to your benefit. In that case, you’dhave to ask the Holy Spirit to help you bring the message toyour understanding in prophetic utterance.

If you thought you were blessed speaking in tongues,wait until you receive the interpretation! The Bible says,“Wherefore“Wherefore letlet himhim thatthat speakethspeaketh inin anan unknownunknown tonguetongue praypraythatthat hehe maymay interpret”interpret” (1 Corinthians 14:13); it’s that simple!Ask the Lord in faith for the interpretation of the tonguesyou’re speaking, receive the interpretation by faith, and speakit forth in your understanding.

Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spiritswhether they are of God: because many false prophets

are gone out into the world (1 John 4:1).

IIn 2 Chronicles 18:21, the Bible tells us that a lyingspirit was in the mouths of the prophets to cause

them to utter lies. That spirit hasn’t died, and because what hedid worked, there’re other spirits who do the same today.They take over people and make them utter lies withoutrestraint.

That’s why it’s important that you test every spirit;don’t just believe everything; believe only that which is true,honest, just, pure, lovely, of good report, virtuous, andpraise-worthy. Don’t believe a rumour; like some would say,“In every rumour, there’s an element of truth.” How couldthere be an element of truth in a rumour founded onfalsehood? What element of truth was there when they liedagainst Jesus? The Bible says they hated Him without a cause,and lied against Him (Matthew 26:59).

Such things still happen today! There’re still lyingspirits. It’s the same devil; he has no new tricks. His strategiesare the same. If he could be a lying spirit in the mouths ofprophets in the Old Testament, you can imagine what hecould be in, and do with, those who let him.

He can be a lying spirit in the mouth of children againsttheir parents, or vice versa. He could be a lying spirit in themouth of a friend or family member against another friendor other family members. He’s just that way; he’s Satan; thedeceiver and manipulator. However, we’re not ignorant of hisdevices.

Follow God’s Word, and allow the Holy Spirit guide

MMany years ago, as we went to remote towns andvillages for crusades, the Spirit of God would give

us some specific strategies for evangelism as we prayed inpreparation. When we followed such instructions, we tookover the land. Sometimes, we were led to go to the chiefs andrulers of the towns to minister to them first.

On some other occasions, if we went to an institution,like a school, we were led of the Spirit to the foundationstone of that institution to lay hands on it and pray. Weweren’t led to do those things the same way all the time; theywere strategies of the Spirit, which would vary as the Spiritprompted.

In preaching the Gospel, and winning yourneighbourhood, town, city, or nation for the Lord, you’ll haveto learn to yield to the Holy Spirit, and depend on Him forthe right strategies to employ. Remember who He is: “TheExtraordinary Strategist!”

In soul winning, we contend for the souls of men;therefore, we must employ divine strategies. Those who don’tunderstand soul winning as warfare are the ones who don’tthink strategies. As you pray, the Holy Spirit will show youwhat to do. Sometimes, He may tell you, “Go witness toSo-and-so”; He may even go ahead to tell you precisely whatto say, and as you proclaim it, the miracle of salvationhappens.

in victory for the children of Israel. It was about Moses’ handsbeing up; it wasn’t the height of the hands. That was whywhen Moses was eventually tired, and had to sit down, aslong as Aaron and Hur held up his hands, Israel still prevailed.That was God’s strategy for victory over Amalek. It wasn’tAaron or Joshua’s hands that needed to be up! It had to bethose of Moses!

What’s that strategy the Lord has given you for yourbusiness, your job, your ministry, your finances, etc.? Put it towork! He knows the best strategy you require for your nextlevel; therefore, depend on Him for direction: “In“In allall thythy wayswaysacknowledgeacknowledge him,him, andand hehe shallshall directdirect thythy paths”paths” (Proverbs3:6).

AAs a child of God, you need to be aware that Godhas assigned angels to you, to minister, not just to

you, but for you. They’re at your service: “Are“Are theythey (angels)notnot allall ministeringministering spirits,spirits, sentsent forthforth toto ministerminister forfor themthem whowhoshallshall bebe heirsheirs ofof salvation?”salvation?” (Hebrews 1:14). So, when forexample, you make a decree in the Name of Jesus, yourangels enforce it; they see to it that it happens. What do youwant done? Give the word and dispatch your angels.

Observe Hebrews 1:14 carefully; it says angels are“…ministering“…ministering spirits,spirits, sentsent forthforth toto ministerminister forfor themthem whowho shallshallbebe heirsheirs ofof salvation?”salvation?” That means they SERVE you. However,they do so under the authority of Jesus; they carry out thethings you say in the Name of the Lord Jesus. They don’t carryout human instructions. Jesus gave us the power of attorneyto use His Name. So, when you use the Name of Jesus,you’re no longer using your human authority; you’re using theauthority of Jesus Christ!

Let’s consider the words of the Master in our openingverse. Peter wanted to fight for Him, with his sword, but Jesusstopped him and said, “Thinkest“Thinkest thouthou thatthat II cannotcannot nownow praypraytoto mymy Father,Father, andand hehe shallshall presentlypresently givegive meme moremore thanthan twelvetwelvelegionslegions ofof angels?”angels?” (Matthew 26:52-53). Jesus was fully awarethat if He gave the word, the angels were under obligationto take action! This is for every one of us. He, however, gave

Angels respond to God’s Word (Psalm 103:20). Aslong as you function within the ambits of God’s perfect will,angels will be at your service; they’ll be happy to work with,and for you.

AAs you study the Bible, you’ll find that God neverarrogated absolutely to Himself, all the powers of

change for human lives. He never told us, for example, thatHe was going to win souls by Himself. He told us to do that.He told us to heal the sick; He didn’t say, “Ask me to do it; orpray for me to do it”; no! He lets us know that it’s ourresponsibility, but we function with His authority. What ablessing!

Get bold for Christ. Preach the Gospel with passion,and as you do, the Lord will confirm His Word with signsfollowing. We have something to give to the world; it’s theGospel of Jesus Christ. Recall again what the Lord said: Healthe sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils:freely you have received, freely also give (Matthew 10:8). Hehas given us both the power and authority to do mighty worksin His Name and effectively demonstrate the character of theSpirit to our world.

And the LORD changed his mind about the disaster thathe planned to bring on his people (Exodus 32:14 NRSV).

TThe Bible tells a story in 2 Kings 20 about KingHezekiah. He was deathly ill, and the Lord sent the

Prophet Isaiah to tell him he would die. Upon hearing thisnews, he turned his face toward the wall and prayed, weepingsorely. The Lord spoke to Isaiah, and he went back to tell theking the Lord had heard his prayer, and added fifteen moreyears to his life. You may then wonder, “Does God changeHis mind?”

This story doesn’t suggest that God made a decision toshorten Hezekiah’s life. He was to die on the basis of God’srighteousness and laws previously given. He had taken somewrong steps, and God sent the prophet to tell him he woulddie, because the Old Testament law states that the soul thatsins shall die (Ezekiel 18:4). The king however repented andchanged his ways, and it became unrighteous for God tocontinue in that decision, which was based on the previousmoral condition. Thus, the Lord actually changed His mind.

This doesn’t mean He changes His standards; but itbecomes inconsistent with His character to go ahead andpunish a man who already repented. Everyone who sins iscondemned as the Bible says, but through salvation in ChristJesus, repentance is possible.

In case you’re in a situation, and you want the Lordto change His mind, you have to change first. If you changeyour state, your way of doing things, then God would, inconsistency with His character, also change how He dealswith you. The Bible says He gives more grace! Walk in Hislight and His grace, and you’ll find that the favour of God can

God’s Word Corrected Me Through Rhapsody of Realities!I came across the October 2014 copy of Rhapsody of Realities in my hotelroom recently. I randomly opened to Monday the 13th; “Sustain TheProgramming of Good In You,” and the Holy Spirit convicted me of speakinghurtful words to, and about people.
