From the Visitor Center

A wonderful lady and smart businesswoman is retiring from our Board of Directors. Donna Laxson has been an active leader in the Chamber since I started in 2006. She has been a dedicated leader serving in our membership committee, Ambassadors, on the Board of Directors and in the top spot of Chairwoman of the Board. She has volunteered for countless activities and events and was always there for our members at mixers, breakfasts and meetings. She brought a smile and zest for life every day. As life hap-pens things change and now she has a dedication to her husband Rob and family. And that is where she should be. I have been blessed to have Donna in my life and will always treasure our fun times together as well has her sage advice. She is not going away and will always be welcomed here with open arms and a cup of coffee.

The 41st Prescott Valley Days was quite the adventure. In spite of the weather everything worked out and we did not have to cancel a single event. I heard nothing but pos-itive comments and saw people having fun. Thank you to our Board Members, staff, volunteers and all our partners for making this a great Prescott Valley weekend!

We are excited to be working on our 45th Celebration and annual Banquet on July 19. This year we are holding it at the Findlay Toyota Center and it will be a “Sapphire Extravaganza” with a little western thrown in. Chairman Chris Graff guarantees some “boot scootin’” fun with a fabulous meal prepared by Chef Jim Cabral and our an-nual recognition of our Community Excellence Awards will be presented. Visit pvchamber.org or call Gloria at 772-8857 for information or reservations.

Cannot believe we are 6 months into our 45th year and 2019! More to come with our Pronghorn Golf Tourna-ment, 45th Celebration and the new Chamber Day at the Downs.

Are you with me and ready for summer weather? Remember to fly your flag on June 14.
