6th Sunday after Pentecost

It is a blessing to worship in the Wesley Way congregation every Sunday! Whether

this is your first visit or you’re a charter member, I hope this is a meaningful time of

worship for you and I hope you feel the presence of the Holy Spirit during today’s

service. Wesley Way offers two worship opportunities. The informal, contemporary

service meets at 8:30am and the traditional service at 10:30am. Both services meet in

the sanctuary.

If you would like me, or any of the staff, to contact you please indicate so on the

attendance card found in the red registration pad at the end of your row. May God bless

us all as we worship together this morning!

UMW Reading Program July starts a new year for the UMW Reading

Program. Please take advantage of some slow

time this summer to check out some of the

Reading Books on the UMW bookshelves in

room 222. Plan I is to read 5 books, one from

each category and Response Magazine, also

on the shelves. You might be interested in the

following book: Small Things with Great

Love: Adventures in Loving Your Neighbor by

Margot Starbuck

Margo says “We don’t have to add lots more

overwhelming activity to what we’ve already

got going….The regular stuff of our lives—

the commute to work and the potlucks and

home improvement projects and errands and

play dates—are the exact places in which we

express and experience God’s love for a world

in need.” Margo looks at our age, our person-

ality, the stages of life, where we live and our

circumstances to help us see in each of them

how to love our neighbor. She challenges us to

look at our strengths to share God’s love daily

and does so with humor.

Donated VBS Items Thank you for your generosity and willingness

to assist the ministry of Vacation Bible

School! If you donated items for VBS and

haven’t picked them up please retrieve them

from the stack of items in the hallway beside

the Finance office.

Room Arrangements A few months ago the announcement was

made that the Finance office would become

the Business office housing the church

Treasurer and Office Manager. The plan was

to relocate the Preschool Director and

Children’s Pastor into the classroom 125 that

was, with few exceptions, only utilized on

Wednesday evening for the D.O.T.S.

children’s Bible study.

That plan has been updated. Due to Preschool

growth, classroom 125 will serve as a shared

Preschool and Sunday School room. The

Office Manager will remain in the church’s

front office and the Preschool Director will

remain in the Finance office. The Children’s

Pastor will move across from the Youth

Pastor’s office/classroom into the Club 45

classroom. This room will become shared

space serving as Children’s Pastor office and

the Club 45 classroom.

If you have any questions about this please

don’t hesitate to talk with Pastor Kevin. All

persons directly effected by these changes are

excited about the opportunities they bring!

Thank you for your patience and involvement

with the planning and growth of Wesley Way.

Early Methodism was driven by mission and outreach.

The roots of Wesley Way United Methodist Church is mission

and outreach. The essence of mission and outreach is sharing

the love we have experienced from Jesus Christ with those

who do not know Him.

Revelation 22:1 states, “Then the angel showed me

the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal,

flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb.”

Here, the messenger of God reveals the water of

life flowing from the throne where Jesus sits.

This water is life-giving and holy. As recipients

of this life-giving water—the love and grace of

Jesus Christ—we are tasked to share it with others.

Therefore Wesley Way United Methodist Church

is Working as God’s living water to win a world

for Jesus Christ.

As people who have received the life-giving,

sin-pardoning, grace filled love of Jesus Christ

we have been tasked by the tradition of the

United Methodist Church and by the

Great Commission of Jesus Christ

to go into all the world

locally, regionally,

and internationally

to share Jesus to all.

With the power, passion,

and guidance of the Holy Spirit we

are to cover the world with the love of Christ.
