The dates for the Baptism of children and for the Pre-Baptismal instruction of parents should be arranged in the rectory ONE MONTH IN ADVANCE. In addition to English, and Spanish this Sacrament may also be in Italian.

•WEDDINGS/ MATRIMONIO Pre–marital instruction is a requirement for all engaged couples. Consequently, arrangements for weddings should be made SIX MONTHS in advance.

TREDICESIMA DOMENICA DEL TEMPO ORDINARIO 26 DI GIUGNO , 2016

“As they were proceeding on their journey someone said to him, ‘I will follow you wherever you go.’…And to another he said, ‘Follow me.’…And someone said ‘I will follow you Lord, but… ‘To him he said,’ No one who sets a hand to the plow

and looks to what was left behind is fit for the kingdom of God.’” How often we hear the expression of a ‘Wake up call.’ Sometimes it is reflected in a health emergency, a financial crisis or family need. We are shaken from our routine and respond to an important need. During the summer months our pace often slows, a more relaxed way of living takes over – vacation, diversion, rest. The scriptures today can call for a change. As Jesus turns and begins His journey to Jerusalem, well intentioned persons commit themselves to accompany Him. They do so with reservation. The little word ‘but’ gets in the way. The sense of urgency of a disciple is weakened, as the challenge of discipleship is sounded. Pope Francis has designated all of us as ‘missionary disciples.’ My journey today is based upon my encounter and relationship with Jesus. His call continues, the urgency of building the kingdom is real and repeated today. I ask myself, ‘what does it mean to make the promise to ‘follow’ Him?’

“Mientras iban caminando, alguien le dijo a Jesús: ‘¡Te seguiré adonde vayas!’… Y dijo a otro: ‘Sígueme’… Otro le dijo: ‘Te seguiré, Señor, pero’… Jesús le respondió: ‘El que ha puesto la mano en el arado y mira hacia atrás, no sirve para el Reino de Dios’. A menudo escuchamos la expresión “Llamada de Atención”. A veces se refleja en una emergencia de salud, una crisis financiera o necesidad familiar. Se nos sacude de nuestra rutina y respondemos a una importante necesidad. Durante los meses del verano nuestro ritmo es más lento, tomamos una forma de vida más relajada – vacaciones, diversiones, descanso. Las escrituras hoy nos llaman a un cambio. Mientras Jesús comienza Su jornada hacia Jerusalén, personas con buenas intenciones se ofrecen a acompañarlo. Lo hacen con reserva. La pequeña palabra ‘pero’ se atraviesa. El sentido de urgencia de un discípulo se debilita cuando éste sondea el reto del disciplinado. El Papa Francisco nos ha designado a todos nosotros a ser ‘discípulos misioneros’. Mi jornada hoy se basa sobre mi encuentro y relación con Jesús. Su llamado continúa y se repite hoy, la urgencia de la construcción del reino es real. Yo me pregunto ‘¿Qué significa la promesa de ‘seguirlo’ hoy?’

`C’è qualcosa di radicale nella vocazione a seguire Gesù (è una caratteristica di ogni cristiano autentico) che ci sconvolge. Si potrebbe essere tentati di invocare una particolarità di modo di pensare, perfino di linguaggio, per addolcire o stemperare gli argomenti del Vangelo. Eppure abbiamo ogni interesse a prendere il Vangelo per

ciò che è, ed approfittare della sua freschezza, del suo vigore. Seguire Cristo non è una cosa come un’altra, che si possa conciliare con esigenze parallele o contrarie. Chi intraprende questo cammino deve sapere fin dall’inizio che sarà il discepolo di un povero che non ha un luogo dove posare il capo, di un uomo che ha saputo non senza pericolo rompere certi legami, e che, una volta impegnatosi in una missione, non si è più guardato alle spalle. Ci si abitua troppo facilmente a vedere i cristiani prendere e lasciare il messaggio evangelico; ora, questo disturba e deve disturbare il male che non cerca che di radicarsi in noi. Bisogna rinnovare il nostro impegno battesimale ricevendo per oggi le dure parole di Gesù, ed accettare coraggiosamente di essere dei discepoli che camminano sui suoi passi, sicuri di trovare, oltre il cammino pietroso, la felicità della vera vita.

BAPTISM INFORMATION The Sacrament of Baptism is Celebrated

Once a month on Sunday One Sunday in Spanish after the 12:30pm Mass

and One Sunday in English at 2:00PM.

THE NEXT AVAILABLE DATES ARE: September 18th— English Baptisms

September 25th — Spanish Baptisms

Please come to the Parish office at least one month in advance before planning your child’s baptism.

RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION 2016–2017

Registration for the year 2016 -2017 will be OPEN during the month of JUNE

from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Parish Rectory.

Requisitos & Costo de la matricula

Los padres deben venir en persona. Certificado de Nacimiento & Bautizo Todos los estudiantes anteriores tienen que registrarse de nuevo cada año escolar. 2 años consecutivos para recibir un sacramento.

*EL COSTO DE MATRICULA SE REFIERE A HERMANOS

INFORMACION SOBRE LOS BAUTIZOS El Sacramento de Bautizo solo se

celebrara una vez al mes los domingos. Los Bautizos en Español se llevan acabo

después de la misa de 12:30pm y los bautizos en Ingles a las 2:00pm.
