TENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
LIFE LINES “When a patient says, I don’t want to be a burden, it may really be a question, Am I a burden? … when a patient says, I might as well be dead, he may really be saying, No one cares about me. Many studies show that assisted suicide requests are almost always for such psychological or social reasons.” -- Life Matters: Doctor-Assisted Death” 2013-14 Respect Life Program, USCCB Secretariat of Pro Life Activities.
WORLD REFUGEE DAY CELEBRATION Catholic Social Services, in conjunction with the Diocesan Office for Parish Life, is sponsoring a "World Refugee Day" Celebration on Sun, June 26th, 1- 4 pm at Nay Aug Park. World Refugee Day, observed on June 20, was established by the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) to commemorate the strength, courage and resilience of millions of refugees throughout the world. In recognition of this special day, all are invited to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the refugee communities in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The celebration will include cultural music, dance, art, an "ethnic dress" fashion show, crafts and games for children, resources from community partners, and exhibits from refugee families. For more information, contact Catholic Social Services at 570-207-2283.

QUESTION of the WEEK – Moved with Pity Here is our next Question of the Week! Take it home and discuss it with your family during the week. Key Passage: As Jesus approached the gate of the town, a man who had died was being carried out. He was his mother’s only son, and she was a widow; and with her was a large crowd from the town. When the Lord saw her, he had compassion for her and said to her, “Do not weep.” (Luke 7:12-13) Adult Question: What might a greater sense of compassion allow you to do for someone this week? Child Question: When did you try to understand what another person was feeling?
FIRST COMMUNION BANNERS Your children’s First Communion banners were a beautiful addition to our First Holy Communion celebration. These banners are available for pick-up in the Parish Office during regular business hours. Please stop and get your child’s banner!

FROM THE WORSHIP TEAM – HANDICAPPED SEATING Beginning this weekend, June 4th & 5th, reserved seating will be available for any parishioners who have limited mobility (and their caregivers/companions) and find it difficult to get down the aisle to receive Holy Communion. This designated seating will include pews all the way across the front of the church. Eucharistic Ministers will bring communion to all parishioners seated there.
