FIRST SUNDAY MESSAGE:BUI LDING A LIFE OF FAITH Matthew 9:29Then he touched their eyes and said, "According to your faith will it be done to you";

SECOND SUNDAY MESSAGE :

EXPECTING THE BEST FROM OUR

GREAT GOD

Hebrews 11:1 Faith assures us of things we expect

andconvinces us of the existence of things

we cannot see.

• Faith is not just optimism or positive thinking.

• Faith is the confident assurance that God is in control of the future and that He plans what is best for my life because I'm His child He loves dearly.

EXPECTING THE BEST FROM OUR GREAT GOD

• NLT -Psalms 32:8 • The LORD says, "I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.

EXPECTING THE BEST FROM OUR GREAT GOD

WHY EXPECT THE BEST

FROM GOD?

• # David honored God with his faith that He expected miraculous victory against Goliath

1.) WHEN I EXPECT THE BEST FROM GOD, IT

HONORS HIM

• 1Samuel 17:46

• This day the LORD will hand you over to me, and I'll strike you down and cut off your head. Today I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds of the air and the beasts of the earth, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.

• # William Carey:

"Expect Great Things From God, and Attempt Great Things for God "

• 1Samuel 17:48 As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him.

2.) WHEN I EXPECT THE BEST FROM GOD, IT

INCREASES MY GOD-GIVEN ABILITIES.

• 1Samuel 17:49 Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground.

• 1Samuel 17:50 So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him.

• 1Samuel 17:32

• David said to Saul, "Let no one lose heart on account of this Philistine; your servant will go and fight him."

3.) WHEN I EXPECT THE BEST FROM GOD, IT ENCOURAGES AND INSPIRES OTHERS

• 1Samuel 17:33 Saul replied, "You are not able to go out against this Philistine and fight him; you are only a boy, and he has been a fighting man from his youth.“

• 1Samuel 17:34 But David said to Saul, "Your servant has been keeping his father's sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock,

• 1Samuel 17:35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it.

• 1Samuel 17:36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God.

• 1Samuel 17:37 The LORD who delivered me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine." Saul said to David, "Go, and the LORD be with you."

• 1Samuel 17:52 Then the men of Israel and Judah surged forward with a shout and pursued the Philistines to the entrance of Gath [7] and to the gates of Ekron. Their dead were strewn along the Shaaraim road to Gath and Ekron.

• 1Samuel 17:53 When the Israelites returned from chasing the Philistines, they plundered their camp.

WHAT ARE THE THINGS YOU MUST DO TO EXPECT THE

BEST IN FAITH FROM OUR GREAT

GOD?

• Psalms 5:3

In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.

1.) TUNE IN TO GOD EVERY MORNING

• TLB -PSALMS 119:95

• Though the wicked hide along the way to kill me, I will quietly keep my mind upon your promises

2.) THINK OF GOD'S PROMISES

THROUGHOUT THE DAY

• TMSG -Psalms 119:11

I've banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won't sin myself bankrupt.

• TMSG -Hebrews 10:23

Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word.

• TLB PSALMS 42:11

O my soul, don't be discouraged. Don't be upset. Expect God to act! For I know that I shall again have plenty of reason to praise Him for all that He will do.

3.) TRUST IN GOD'S UNFAILING LOVE EVEN WHEN BAD THINGS ARE

HAPPENING

• TMSG Psalms 119:63

I'm a friend and companion of all who fear you, of those committed to living by your rules.

4.) TALK WITH OTHER BELIEVERS WITH STRONG FAITH OFTEN AS IN

MINIMUM OF ONCE A WEEK.

• Hebrews 10:25

Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

• (AMP) Not forsaking or neglecting to assemble together [as believers], as is the habit of some people, but admonishing (warning, urging, and encouraging) one another, and all the more faithfully as you see the day approaching.

• Hebrews 11:6

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
