St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle,
Be our protection against the
wickedness and snares of the
Devil.
May God rebuke him,
we humbly pray;
and do Thou,
O Prince of the
Heavenly Hosts,
by the Power of God,
cast into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl throughout the
world seeking the ruin of souls.
~Amen

All parishioners are invited to
pray a Rosary on behalf of the
Souls in Purgatory as often as
possible during the year.
This Rosary may be said for
your dear departed family
members, friends, or anyone,
even those who are unknown to
you, as you wish to include in
this Act of Charity.
Not only will you be performing
a work of mercy for these souls,
but they will pray for you! Sign-
up sheets for 2020 are located
on the table in the Narthex.
Please chose any day, or
multiple days, for which no one
else has signed up.
Thank you for sharing in this special gift to all the
“Holy Souls in Purgatory”.

Pray for Fathers O’Brien, Roux, Farge, Saunders,
Klores, Bozant & Melcher
O Jesus, Eternal Priest, keep
Thy priests within the shelter of
Thy Sacred Heart, where none
may touch them.
Keep unstained their anointed
hands, which daily touch Thy
Sacred Body.
Keep unsullied their lips, daily
purpled with Thy Precious
Blood.
Keep pure and unworldly their
hearts, sealed with the sublime
mark of the priesthood.
Let Thy Holy Love surround
them from the world's
contagion.
Bless their labors with
abundant fruit, and may the
souls to whom they minister be
their joy and consolation here
and their everlasting crown
hereafter.
Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us: obtain for us numerous and
holy priests. † Amen
“The priesthood is the love of the
heart of Jesus”
What a beautiful occasion it was last weekend to celebrate
the sacrament of Confirmation with four of our young people.
Again, I want to thank Archbishop Aymond for delegating me
to confer the sacrament and all those who had a role to play in
the formation of these newly confirmed. A great thanks also to
those who helped decorate the church for Pentecost and
coordination of the reception! Please continue to keep Claire,
Julia, Nic and Michael in your prayers!
It was with a heavy heart that I heard the news that Fr. Don
Saunders, SJ, received a new assignment, one which will take
him away from New Orleans. Fr. Saunders has been a very
faithful spiritual father to our Sunday 8am Mass crowd here at
St. Patrick’s. For 15 years he has given his free time to celebrate
the Mass and enlighten our parishioners with his insightful
homilies. Many of our 9:15am Mass parishioner know his
patient counsel in the confessional. Fr. Saunders will have two
more Masses with us before his departure: June 7th and June
28th. While the health crisis prevents us from having a
reception in his honor, please consider writing him a note of
gratitude as he follows the mission God has for him at the
Jesuit retreat house in Grand Coteau. ~ Fr. O’Brien
Our Lady of
Prompt Succor,
hasten to help us.
