Do you know there is a storyhouse in Leybourne? Where isit? We explain and get youthere.
Reading books andstorytelling always excitechildren. It gives childrenconfidence to engage withothers and bring theirimagination in reality.
By keeping this in mind, a storyhouse day was organised inMarch at Nadesh Zahra housewith the help of her mummyZeenara Najam at their house
in Bridgewater Place.
Children spent 2 hours inreading their favourite books,telling their own stories anddrawing pictures to explainstories. All children wereexcellent and participatedactively.

I write the day after the quite remarkableRoyal Wedding at Windsor. It wascertainly a special occasion and I'm surethat no-one has ever preached quite likethat in a Royal Chapel!
Bishop Curry's words were words oursociety needs to hear. We live often inthe midst of ever increasing busynessand under the shadow of terrorist threat.
The news seems to constantly weighus down - perhaps one of the downsidesof 24/7 news is that the easiest stories tofill the time are often themost depressing ones.
But at Harry and Meghan's weddingthere were words of hope and life –intentionally echoing Martin Luther KingBishop Curry said these words:
"If you don't believe me, just stopand imagine. Think and imagine a worldwhere love is the way."
"Imagine our homes and familieswhere love is the way. Imagineneighbourhoods and communities wherelove is the way.
"Imagine governments and nationswhere love is the way. Imagine businessand commerce where this love is the way.
"Imagine this tired old world wherelove is the way. When love is the way -unselfish, sacrificial, redemptive.
"When love is the way, then no child willgo to bed hungry in this world ever again.
"When love is the way, we will letjustice roll down like a mighty streamand righteousness like an ever-flowingbrook.
"When love is the way, poverty willbecome history. When love is the way,the earth will be a sanctuary.
"When love is the way, we will laydown our swords and shields, down bythe riverside, to study war no more.
"When love is the way, there's plentygood room - plenty good room - for all ofGod's children.

Words that most, if not all, of us canget behind.
They are words that inspire us totransform our communities, this is noeasy task but is one that I believe Godcalls us to.
What amazes me is not that BishopCurry said these words (even though itwas an unlikely audience) but that weare surprised that a church leader saidthem!

Young choristers: To assist youngchoristers to read music and becomefamiliar with music they will sing at aSunday service we are arranging specialfun music sessions at 8 Grassmere,once a fortnight 18.00-19.00. June 4 and18 and July 2 and 9. Please contactJanet Tootal our Choir Director.
Adopt a Sunday is an additional way ofgiving for the day to day running of ourChurch. Commemorate special events inyour life or your family e.g. birthdays,anniversaries and remembrance. Youcan cover the cost of the elements, thewafers & wine for Eucharist, or financethe flowers that decorate the Church. Thesuggested minimum donation is £15 forthe elements and £30 for flowers. Toadopt a Sunday, please fill in the form onthe clip board in Church. On the day, addyour donation in an envelope, mark ifflowers or elements and place it in thecollection plate. If you don’t already GiftAid your regular donations please do so.Your donation will be mentioned in theweekly news sheet.
Leybourne Cricket Club: From June 8,free cricket training sessions for all agesfrom 7 to 14. Sessions will run from6.30pm to 7:30pm and will continue for 4weeks through June. The bar will alsobe open in the evening. All welcome.Contact Paul Rose on 07858 379633 oremail [email protected].

Welcome to Leybourne Church Heroes Holiday Club.We hope your child is looking forward to joining us for a fun-filled week!
Due to the popularity of the previous holiday clubs, places are limited this year so advance booking is essential. This form must be completed before we can register your child.
We regret we are unable to accept any children who arrive on the day and have not registered.
