concluded with an Ordination Investiture in recognition of 37 men and women receiving the highest credential. Dr. Greg Mundis, District Council Speaker and Assemblies of God World Missions Eurasia Director, challenged the audience to view “grace” as a personal gift.

Every session of the District Council witnessed an anointing of God demonstrated through unity and a spirit of excitement regarding the future. The times of worship provided tremen-dous inspiration and the ministry of the Word challenged and affirmed the Assemblies of God family of Oklahoma.

The District Council took action to elect two executive officers on the nominating ballots. As both individuals selected were incumbents, they immediately begin filing an additional four-year term. Congratulations to Tom and Darlene Goins as well as to Curtis and Barbara Owens. Brother Goins and Brother Owens bring years of ministerial experience and a history of effective leadership abilities that strengthen the Fellowship.

The electoral body requested Tom Goins to continue service as District Secretary-Treasurer. He first became a member of the Executive Leadership Team when elected as the Eastern Zone Executive Presbyter during the 1983 District Council. Five years later the Oklahoma District chose him as District Secretary-Treasurer, the position to which he continues to offer excellent leadership.

The 2011 District Council requested Curtis Owens to continue service as the Eastern Zone Executive Presbyter. Follow-ing years of service as a Sectional Presbyter, he accepted the responsibility of this present assignment in 1988. His pastoral

background along with his stellar reputation across Oklahoma provides a tremendous resource to Oklahoma.

Linda and I look forward to serving our family during the excit-ing days ahead! We love Oklahoma!

Introducing Oklahoma’s Newest Missionaries

In the Assemblies of God World Missions’ spring board meeting Daniel Hazelrigg was approved to serve in Mexico as a general appointed missionary. Having grown up in church, Daniel Hazelrigg began taking yearly trips to Mexico at the age of 17. While making these annual trips God began opening his eyes to the plans He had for Daniel in Mexico. For the past 10 years Daniel has served in various capacities of ministry, and in the past two immediate years he has served as the youth pastor of El Camino A Vida in Yukon.

Daniel will be going to the state of Oaxaca, Mexico to work with a team whose primary focus is on indigenous people groups. Throughout Mexico descendants of the Aztec and Mayan civilizations can be found that still speak their own dialect with their own distinct culture. Most of these people still have not been reached with the Gospel of Christ.

Angela Tiffany is a newly approved missionary to Guadalajara, Mexico. She was raised in Norman, OK by Greg and Susan Tiffany and grew up immersed in Chi Alpha campus min-istries. Angela received a scholarship to study at the University of Oklahoma and there God began to really form both her and her heart. Her senior year at OU Angela went on a study abroad program to Puebla, Mexico where she lived with a Mexican family, learned Spanish and fell in love with the people and the culture of Mexico.

After coming back to Oklahoma from Puebla and graduating from OU with a degree in Public Relations, Angela decided to return to Mexico, to Guadalajara, to serve under a missionary for a year with Chi Alpha's "Give a Year, Pray about a lifetime" initiative. That year turned into four and a half years of working with children, the homeless, addicts and then focusing on the university students of this large urban city. Angela was involved in the planting and founding of Pentecostal campus ministry in the city of Guadalajara, a ministry called Punto de Encuentro (Point of Encounter.)

Angela's call to a lifetime of missions came towards the end of that time in Guadalajara and she returned to Oklahoma in Febru-ary of 2010 to pursue full missions appointment. Now, she is planning to return to Guadalajara to continue working with the city's university students, to help equip national pastors to reach out to this demographic, and to simply love the people of Mexico like Jesus does.

Terence and Laurel Harris

After getting married on New Year's Eve, Terence and Laurel Harris were  recently ap-proved through AGWM to serve in a sensitive  area of  Eurasia. The  country where they are going has a Christian population  of less than  one percent. The couple's ultimate  goal is to start a Teen Challenge ministry, helping people to encounter Jesus Christ and to overcome life-controlling problems.

Between the two of them, Terence and Laurel have served on more than 18  trips, both stateside and overseas. They have also served on church staffs for more than seven years, and graduated from all three AG schools in Springfield (Terence -- CBC 2003, AGTS 2009; Laurel -- Evangel 2009). In 2004, Laurel produced and released a CD of original music, "Start Small, Hope Big," with an overseas  emphasis. Prior to beginning itineration, Terence and Laurel  were both working at Teen Challenge of Oklahoma.  Their heart is for the unreached peoples of the world, specifically in Eurasia.

A 21st Century real life “Noah and the Ark” would no doubt be media coverage filled with overbearing humor and outrageous sarcasm. The movie industry already conveyed such a picture some years back in the comedy “Evan Almighty,” where Steve Carell stars as a resistant and disbelieving Congressman from Buffalo who finally accepts the radical job of a modern day Noah. However, this illustrative childhood Bible story has a power-ful challenge to the fathers of our culture. Genesis chapters 6 through 9 give us the account. But near the end of the New Tes-tament in the book of Hebrews chapter 11, verse 7 alludes to the historical narrative with one profound sentence: “By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family.”

The uniqueness of this story can be found in the certain activ-ity of this husband and father. And thousands of years later, the writer of Hebrews is led by the Holy Spirit to include it in a list of “faith people” recorded in chapter 11 of his letter…because Noah “built an ark to save his family.” I believe that the nature of fatherhood has everything to do with being spiritual architects – building homes that will ride above the rising tide of evil in our world.

We are literally surrounded by secular, social and cultural influences, such as the dissolving of the family unit, promiscu-ity among teens and young adults, and anti-biblical themes on television, in movies and within the lyrics of popular songs.Dads, if there has ever been a time to look to the Blueprints, to set out our tools, to sharpen our saws and put our heart into building a household of faith, it’s now. Oh sure, make no mis-take about it, there will be times when you will feel like you are hammering all alone…when other fathers and families are allow-ing their children to drift from safety. But just remember Noah and his endeavor to follow the instructions and logic of his God. When no other father believed, he did. When everyone laughed and thought he was crazy and unrealistic, he continued on. In fact, 2 Peter 2:5 refers to Noah as a “preacher of righteousness.” He stood determined and took his responsibility with holy fear.

The role of dads in the home will determine to a great degree whether the family will surf or sink. Noah was building a spiritual ark before he ever received directions to build a physical one. Furthermore, fathers will never be able to build an ark in ab-sence. The positive presence of fatherhood has to be known and felt. So, fellow dad, consider the challenge that surrounds your own personal family and, even if your diligent pounding sounds the loudest, KEEP HAMMERING…in an attitude of unquenchable love and humble authority…so as to save your own family.

STL Update*

Charlie Odell uses his new STL truck to build Native

American churches all over the state of Arizona.

Charlie Bunn just received his new STL truck . He will

be using it to haul supplies, equipment, helping move

students into the dorms, and most of all, give interna-

tional students at the University of Central Oklahoma

ride support to various places  of need.  Here is a pic of

the first student to ride in the new STL truck.........Thanks

for your generous giving, Oklahoma students!

Ministry Idea*Looking for a new twist on

an old idea? Give Chris Davis

a call at Bartleville 1st.  Chris

and his students put on their

own version of the Jimmy Fal-

lon show complete with their

own house band and a host

of cool videos.  In the midst

of this event they raised

over $5,500.00 for STL in 8
