Junior Academy RetreatAll Junior Academy students will be attending the annual JA Retreat on Friday, January 17, from 8:30am to 2:00pm. It will take place in the Activities Center at Olivet Lutheran Church located at 5840 Monroe Street, Sylvania, Ohio 43560. Students should not report to St. Ursula rather, we ask that all parents drop their daughter off directly at Olivet Lutheran Church by 8:30am and pick them up at 2:30pm. The JA Retreat is organized by Mr. Shannon and our Campus Ministry Department. It is a wonderful opportunity for your daughter to connect with her SUA sisters. Please fill out and return the attached Student Release form no later than Monday, January 6.
Mother Daughter Event On Friday, January 24, from 6:30pm - 9:00pm, we will have our first annual Mother Daughter Cosmic Bowling Night! All JA students and moms are welcome to attend. It will take place at Miracle Lanes, located at 5030 Jackman Rd, Toledo, Ohio 43613. You can bowl two games at a price of $2.79 per game, per person (including shoes). We will not be collecting money. You will pay the bowling alley directly. There will be bowling, pizza, raffles, prizes, and many memories made! If you are interested in purchasing a 2014 Mother Daughter Cosmic Bowling shirt, please see the order formed attached. Thank you to Debbie Packo for organizing this event!
The Junior Academy has really been getting into the Holiday spirit! We had a fun Christmas celebration with our Big Sisters last week, which included cookie decorating, a gift exchange, and many laughs. We also went to the Ursuline Center and mingled with the residents. We sang Christmas carols for them, decorated the Ursuline Center Christmas tree, and presented Christmas cookies which we decorated with our Big Sisters
the evening before. Our students really enjoyed getting to know the residents better, and it was great to spread a little Christmas cheer!
From all of us here at SUA, we wish you a beautiful Holiday Season and wish you a wonderful New Year. We also thank you for making the year 2013 so special!

Attention 8th Grade Parents and StudentsWe are looking for pictures of all 8th grade students! In particular, we need a baby photo, current
individual student picture, and photos from any SUA related event. We are planning ahead and thinking about 8th grade Graduation as these photos will be used to make the 8th grade Graduation video. Please

Mini-Class NightMini-Class Night will take place on Thursday, December 9, beginning at 5:30pm. Mini-Class Night is a
great way for you to meet your daughter’s Semester 2 teachers and to learn a little about the curriculum they will be teaching. Your daughter will receive a listing of her teachers and classrooms during Seminar on Tuesday, January 7. This will be your reference for Mini-Class night. We look forward to seeing you!
NEW - Yoga ClubWe are excited to say that Ms. DiSalle is back with Yoga Club! This club is a great place for you to unwind and find your inner peace before class. All meetings will take place in the Gym. You are welcome to bring your own yoga mat. If you do not have one, we will provide one for you. Please find the most anticipated

December St. Angela ReflectionTrusting in God and God’s providence is one of the hardest things we are asked to do. As human beings we
like to be in control of all things that affects us. We think - who knows better what we need and what we want than ourselves! Yet it has been made clear to us that there is difference between what we WANT and
what we NEED. So what is St. Angela trying to tell us? I think she wants us to rely more on God than ourselves. I believe that God is not denying us or punishing us by not giving us what we want when we
want it, but that maybe the timing isn’t right or that God is trying to help us learn what it means to trust and have a deeper faith, as well as learning patience. St. Angela knew the strength and courage she has within her, yet she knew of God’s grace that nourished this very spirit. Trust in God - Life and Joy will come to
