McDonald’s Junior Varsity AAAA

Provincial Volleyball

Championships 2018

Greetings from the MHSAA

Welcome to the 2018 McDonald’s JV Provincial High School Volleyball Championships!

Nearly 6,000 student athletes participate in high school volleyball in Manitoba every year, making it one

of our largest sports. A great deal of hard work has gone into practices, matches and tournaments in

preparation for this Championship. All teams have now focused their attention on this weekend with the

goal of becoming 2018 Provincial Champions. We wish you success as you strive to achieve your

ultimate goal and hope that the Provincials will be a special memory for you all.

Thank you to the organizing committee for your efforts in hosting this event. The support of all the

student and staff volunteers is very much appreciated and is a very valued component to the overall

success of this Championship.

A very special Thank You to our Title Sponsor, McDonald’s. Their strong and continued commitment to

high school sport in our Province is invaluable. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our

major corporate partners for their tremendous support – Boston Pizza, Dairy Farmers of Manitoba,

Manitoba’s Credit Unions, Manitoba Hydro, Mikasa, Payworks, Awards & More and Sport Manitoba.

Congratulations to all who will be competing for the coveted title of MHSAA Provincial Champions.

As the president of the West Winnipeg Athletic Conference I would like to extend a heartfelt

welcome all the teams who have qualified for the 2018 MHSAA “AAAA” Provincial Junior

Varsity Volleyball Championships. Your hard work, dedication and commitment to excellence

over the past few months, have led you to these Championships.

Each member of your team has played an integral role in your accomplishments this season.

Although success tends to be measured in wins and losses, your involvement in volleyball this

season has also formed friendships and etched memories that will last a lifetime. Special

recognition should go out to the coaches, and managers for all the countless hours spent

developing the teams that will participate this season.

I would like to extend a sincere thank you to the parents, for their support of the athletes, and to

the school programs and administration that have contributed to the development of the athletes

who will both entertain and compete over the next few weeks.

The West Winnipeg Athletic Conference takes great pride in being associated with these

Championships. The physical education staff from all the WWAC member schools have done

their best to ensure the continued success of this Championship tournament and it is with great

pleasure that I recognize and acknowledge their efforts.

A tournament cannot run without volunteers therefore, on behalf of the WWAC, thank you to all

the volunteers who have so freely given up your time to ensure the success of these

Championships. Your efforts are greatly valued and appreciated.

Once again, congratulations to all the teams who have made it to these Championships and the

best of luck to you all as you strive for the ultimate goal of being the 2018 Manitoba High

School ‘AAAA’ Provincial Junior Varsity Champions.

Sincerely,

JJ Ross
