Quotes
10th juror: “I beg your pardon. What are you so goddamn polite about?”
11th juror: “For the same reason you’re not. It’s the way I was brought up. In discussing such a thing as the murder potential we should remember that many of us are capable of committing murder… to say that a man is capable of murder does not mean that he has committed a murder” (59).
Quotes Continued
11th Juror: "You have no right to play like this with a man’s life. This is a terrible and ugly thing to do. Don’t you care. . . ?” (63).
11th Juror: “I have been listening very closely and it seems to me that this man- has some very good points to make. From what was presented at the trial the boy looks guilty, but maybe if we go deeper-” (38).
SummaryAt first I immediately thought the boy was
guilty. After listening to Juror 8, he brought up some good points that helped me decide the boy was innocent. Once we all looked deeper into the trial, my vote changed from “guilty” to “not guilty”. There were some jurors who ignored what I had to say, resulting in some arguments specifically with Juror 10 and 7. However, I am glad to be able to speak what is on my mind freely. My purpose here at the trial was to find justice, and, after hearing Juror 8, I was sure that the boy was innocent. I am glad I had the opportunity to participate in this jury for the sake of justice.
Analysis
Talks based on the facts rather than the people who just think he is guilty for no real reason except the witnesses points of view.
The jurors that strongly felt that the boy was guilty (Jurors 10 and 7) disagreed with Juror 11.
He likes what Juror 8 has to say and gets along with him quite well
He strictly is looking for justice and wants to choose what is right. He believes that in America he has the ability to speak his mind.
