page! So it is not difficult to imagine the

advantages this offers over pitching a

conventional tent on a dark. wet and very

stormy night. But who wants to bother

locating the right pole for the right sleeve

and pushing it through miles of fabric on

even the finest day. Very few rndeed once

they have seen Khyam Rapidex Quick Erect

System m action.

Once the mam dome O is at full height the tri-guys

can be securely pegged

The bedroom poles are 0 simply threaded through the

sleeves on each bedroom section and secured into

place using the shockcorded elastic clips

The upright support poles for 0 each bedroom section Simply

locate into the plastic feet on the end of the mam poles.

The llysheet then clips directly to the beoroom poles.

Once all bee room poles are rn 0 position the remain•ng pegs

and guyropes can be secured. Inner tents simply clip rnto

place and are suspended via shockcorded loops and hooks.

All RIDGI-OOME mam poles operate around a central hub

and therefore lock permanently 1nto pos tion du r g use g1vong

added stab11ity.

bag onto a standaro 50mm ball hitch.

When you get to your site you can either

The three ranges of Khyam Flex1-dome bridge the gap

between extremely spacious Khyam Ridgi-domes and

dome shaped mountain tents. Suited for VISits to the

most adventurous locat1ons they all have naturally

curved dome profiles. These streamlined shapes shed

wind and rain and have usable space right upto the

sides of the tent. The living areas are separated from

the bedrooms in even t11e smallest sizes so wet boots

and cook1ng gear are kept well clear ot your clothes

and sleep1ng bags. The larger Flexi-domes retain the

dome shapes but include up to three separate

bedrooms around a central communal living area

to share domestic chores

INNER FABRIC

tents from the FLEXI-DOME r::>ni,O are manufactured from breathable synthetic fabric. If condensation forms on the insrde of the tlysheet, the light shower coating we have added to the inner 'abnc will normally prevent water penetration. The RIDGI-DOME range of rnners are manufactured from po!yconon which is also semr-proofed.

GROUNDSHEET FABRIC

All inner tent groundsheets for the FLEXI-DOME range are constructed from PU coated synthetic fabric and the seams are tape sealed. Under certain conditions. condensation can occur on the groundsheet particularly beneath beds and sleep mats. To protect and prolong the life of the inner groundsheet. we recommend the use of Khyam

Original Stone Protection Sheets. The construction of groundsheets in the RIDGI-OOME range utilises woven polyethylene with welded seams making taping unnecessary. However, use of a supplementary groundsheet will help keep the inner tent groundsheet clean tor easier packing.

INNER TENTS

All Khyam rnner tents are equipped with secondary mosquito net doors and double zip sliders to promote ventilation. The inner doors can oe rolled up and tied back for clear access and all inner tents can be easily detached from the flysheet and folded back or removed. Never cook m your tent. Synthetrc fabrics wrll melt and may catch fire rf they come into contact with a flame or very hot ob:ect. Always take extreme care when cooking near your tent and be alert to sparks from barbecues and camp fires.

POLE SYSTEM

The Khyam FLEXI-DOME range main pole structure is a combinatiOn of robust solid glass fibre poles bonded onto reinforced moulded nylon joints. Poles in the RIDGI-DOME range are constructed from aluminium and steel grving rigicrty with flexibility unique to Khyam.

lt is rare for poles or joints to break, they are extremely durable and have been tested to exactmg standards. For peace of mind. however, we suggest carrying spare poles on long or faraway trips. A complete range of replacement poles are available through all stock sts.

GUYING POINTS

Guying points are sewn onto the flysheet of all Khyam tents to marntarn stability in windy conditions. To reduce the risk of damage in severe weather, we strongly recommend that where applicable, each main pole is guyed directly

Both the Storm Guy pack and the Tn-guy System have been specifically designed to spread tension evenly around the pole system. As dome tents are flexible structures. guys and storm guys should never be over tensioned as this will distort the framework and the fabric will become loose Heavy duty pegs on Family models are provided to maximise performance in severe weather condrtions and guys and storm guys should be pegged as far from the tent as possible.

SEAMS

On all models. the flysheet seams have been tape sealed durrng manufacture and sealant only needs to be applied tf necessary where an inner tent suspension loop has been stitched onto the seam. Any untaped seams may require treatment with seam sealant which is provided. Unlike natural fabrics. synthetrcs do not recover after sewrng and it is sometimes necessary to apply sealant Using the applicator. apply the sealant carefully along the insrde of the flysheet seams. and around the hanging points from which the inner tent is suspended. ensuring that they are totally sealed to prevent any wicking.

On no account should the teeth or working parts of any zips on the flysheet or inner tent be sealed . Allow at least 48 hours for the sealant to cure The tent must never be packed away until the sealant is completely dry.

Seam sealant should not be applied to the outsrde of the flysheet. Use sealant wherever small drips may occur making sure firstly that the flysheet is fully dry prior to application
