justification by a teen

Your Experiences• Dated in high school• Hung out with the opposite gender alone much earlier than second semester of senior year• If it was so morally wrong why would you have done it?• I believe you to be morally strong individuals, if this truly went against your values you would
not have done so yourself.• In fact I'm not asking to date, and in College Mom's friends were primarily men.
My accreditations
• 4.0 College GPA• 98.87 High School GPA• Has anything ever stood in the way of my achievements?• No. • You raised me better than to let something as trivial as a boy ruin my success.
17 as an age• Online consensus has shown that the appropriate age to date is 16-17• Responsible and involved parents on parenting websites are quoted as saying • “Our unsupervised dating rule for both kids was 16”• “16 or 17 is an appropriate age for dating”• “Our daughter can date at 17 on her own, with a curfew”• “17 is an appropriate age for dating for both boys and girls”• These were four comments in a row! Everyone consenting to the age range of 16-17.• Again, I'm not asking to date. But to spend time with a male friend.
Sexual maturity• I believe this fear stems from your fear of your daughter being involved in sexual activity• Do you want to send a daughter away to college who has never kissed a boy?• This has hurt my self esteem because I'm one of the only ones.• I'm not asking to kiss anyone, I'm asking you to trust me to make my own decisions• I will eventually be physically involved with someone and that's something you as parents must
accept. • Do I not deserve to be happy with someone, as you two were with each other?• I know you want what is best for me, and this is it.
Rob• Applied to 10 colleges• Plans on getting a golf scholarship• Full scholarship at Notre Dame• Can't hang out at his house, he told me the kitchen in the back house is much bigger than his at
home• Plays football and Throws Shotput• Plans on going to school for Environmental Science/Engineering
Connor• Had a girlfriend at an early age
• Hung out with Anna alone, Mallory alone, Kait alone, and it has never been a problem• I know you both would like to deny that there is a double standard, but it is there• I don't deserve to be limited because of my sex.
Conclusions• I love you both• Mom said earlier it's because you both “care about me” so I hope you listened to my arguments
and chose to care about me deeply enough to look past your own fears. • Thank you.
