M.D'S FAREWELL
“He came, He saw, He conquered!”
The entire DPS Numaligarh family waited with bated

that DPS Numaligarh bid adieu to Shri P.

been a guiding source and inspiration to them. School HeadGirl, Shreya Shekhar and School
HeadBoy, Riteek Aditya Kashyap Das' heart-warming speeches took everyone on a time travel
to all the beautiful moments spent with the iconic figure. One of the beautiful moments of the

good old days in her own school stressing the universal truth that 'school days are the best days
of one's life' and so one should make the best of it. What followed next was the most awaited
moment when Mr. Padmanabhan, like always, shared his words of wisdom coated with wit. In
his most memorable speech, he took everyone down the memory lane only to

planted a sapling in the school garden thus reaching out to the
students, once again, on the lines of environmental
upkeeping. The Principal, Mrs. Anurekha Barkakoti’s, in her

Farewell
The morning of 20th December, 2017 saw young ladies and
gentlemen of the batch of 2017-18 walking into the school
premises all decked up and dressed like never before. The
guests for the day were welcomed with tokens, as in handmade
floral bracelets for the ladies and floral brooches for the
gentlemen. Students of class 11 of Delhi Public School
Numaligarh along with their teachers and staff, were gathered
to bid farewell to the outgoing class XII batch. The day was a
fiesta devoted to the years spent together with friends and
teachers to reminisce the joyous moments. The theme of the
valedictory ceremony was tropical, with a lot of floral
arrangement and bright hues. The ceremony began with a
prayer and the lighting of the lamp followed by dance and
music. The highlight of the day was Kete Nyusou's exemplary
showcase of beat-boxing which left everyone awestruck and
standing up from their seats as it ended. The Principal, Smt.
Anurekha Barkakoti's address to the outgoing batch was a very
motivational and empowering one and geared everyone up for
the rest of the event. Thereafter, a few of the teachers spoke and
took everyone down the memory lane. The Head Girl, Shreya
Shekhar, the Head Boy, Riteek Aditya Kashyap Das and a
series of students like Teresa Louis, Kaushik Patwari, Anwesha
Goswami, Chadoang R. Sangma, Snigdha Saikia, Ayush
Nimodia and several others spoke their hearts out, recalling
their good old days in the junior school and their world of
memories woven in the senior school. The special guests for the day were showered with thoughtful
one-liners attached to their gifts alongwith their respectively titled sashes. It was as if to overcome the
rollercoaster of emotions that a marvelous cake was cut to embrace the new journey that awaits to
unfold before the children, followed by a scrumptious lunch. As a huge element of surprise to the
students, they were disclosed to a Photo Booth, especially made keeping in mind the “hip” trends of
today. It is hoped that this Photo Booth may have made it a little less difficult for them as they parted
ways, for, as they say, “We keep this love… in a photograph”.
